i have 3 all were very well thought out and they all mean something to me because if they don't then sometimes they can get old and then you wish you had never gotten them and yes they brought me satisfaction to know i had 3 tats with my grandpa, grandma and great-grandma's name on them they are decesed thats why i chose them because they were all great heroes of mine so tell your nephew to think it out before he gets a tattoo because they are there for life and they don't wash off and make sure he gets it done somewhere professionally or it could get infected and cause lots of problems hope this helps

i have 6 tattoos. don't ever get a tattoo off the wall, always have it planned out.. don't ever get a tattoo drunk (places aren't by law supposed to tattoo a person who is drunk, but it has been known to happen). i don't regret the tattoos i planned out. i do regret the tattoos that i should have been more clear about to the tattooist. if a tattoo artist won't draw what you want, then take the tattoo you want to a tattooist who will do the job right. another tip on not regretting the tattoo, don't get it above the collar or on your hands. as a kid these things seem like a good idea... as an adult in the work force it's a hit or miss. first impressions and all.

tattoos are for life, the bigger it is the harder it is to cover up if it gets messed up. they hurt more coming off than they do coming on ..but they do have a good pain coming on. the pain is that of tearing flesh which in actuallity is what is occuring. a needle going into the flesh injecting ink. the best trick to dull out the pain is just to relax. the more tense you are the more it will hurt.

I love my tattoo. I think body modifications are an art form and an extension of who you are. I wish that they weren't so trendy now a days though, and I wish that people would put more meaning behind what they put on their body forever. I hate when someone gets a design off a wall, or just something generic, it makes for a bad tattoo, no matter how good the artist.
& yes, depending on the body part, there can be a great deal of pain. The less fat, the more pain. But it's worth it.

Tattoos are highly personalized. Not all kids feel a desire to have one done. Girls who are usually into health and beauty will shudder at the thought of a blemished skin, but the artsy kids will be the group who will experiment and even obsess with the process.

Humans have adorned their bodies since time immemorial. Men who have plotted to take down a wooly mammoth and succeeded may have very well adorned themselves with indelible stains signifying a mammoth.
These days, men (and women) buy their adornment, unlike their parents and grandparents who had to belong to the military or clubs. Lol, that sound like buying a diploma.

There are tattoo removal procedures too. Times have changed and some kids go the tattoo stage like a rite of passage for themselves.

To me it is just discomfort and a tickling sensation depending on what the tattooist is doing - outline or shading.

I found the bony parts of the body hurt more however my husband had a tattoo on his chest and he said that was his most painful so just be aware of where on the body you want it.
Once your nephew finds the tattooist he wants then he can discuss any questions he has with him prior to making an appointment.

Sorry would love to tell you my tattoos mean something to me but no, i liked/loved the patterns pure and simple.

In the future i will have something to represent my marriage and child/children but only when my family is complete.

I have four tattoos, done very artiscally, but do agree don't have them above the collar line or on the hands. When I go for a job interview i make sure i wear long sleeves as employers don't always look favourably on a nearly 60 yr old granny having them, however i don't regret them as they are part of me and life is too short for regrets.

i have a Japanese sleeve witch covers my full arm some may like it sum may not i had it done when i was 19 I'm now 36. i did not rush to get it and i took a long time to make my mind up as to what i wanted. every day i look at it i love the art work and to make it even better a good Friend did it who died this year so i look at it and i remember what a great person he was. everyone has a choice in life to do as they like as long as your not hurting anyone or upsetting anyone. then live life to the full and enjoy it how ever you see fit

I have 2 on my "Sex Lines", I designed them myself.

Yeah, hurt like a *****... It felt like taking a saw and chizzeling through my skin, grinding over my bones,,,

Was worth it... sexy as hell

I feel more as an individual, tattoos don't make a person bad or good. I chose to have them for symbolic reasons, the meaning behind my tats are good & I use them to remember my accomplishments....

I've just got each of my daughters name in a scroll on both upper arms, did they hurt, yes and who says they don't are lying.some tattoos look really nice if tastefully done, but in my opinion people who are absolutely covered in them look a mess,in my opinion of course, but there's a local guy near us,and he has his face tattooed in a spiders web, with tear drops coming from his eyes, hes getting on a bit now and it looks a right mess. don't rush into it,remember they are for life,so if you're getting one, make sure its the right one for you?

I'm Maori, my face is, like everyone else's, what i confront the world with, but i am showing you what i am on the inside. I cannot hide it & to look at me is to confront who i am.
