There were times when Jesus told people to adhere to the Laws of Moses. But that was before He was Resurrected. The real change occurred when He was crucified through the resurrection.
What Matthew 5 was about is what the Law did: Expose our guilt. We are all guilty before God of breaking the Law of Moses. The reaction is to come to Christ in repentance. That's what repentance is supposed to bring to us: Christ's covering.
Paul was an expert with the conditions of sin, the Law of Moses, and how to see the them.
Example:
Romans 3
27Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
So read Romans 3. It will tell you about what all this means. Study it.

Since Jesus sacrificed his life for our sins, through his fathers will, his resurrection raised what is referred to as the "New Convenant" which wiped away all the old practices (sacrificing of animals, etc..) and was replaced by the ten commandments. You should be able to find some of these readings in Hebrews or Corinthians. Good Luck on your spiritual readings!

it rather is the region of the e book of Hebrews close to the top of the hot testomony. through complexity of the question, it may well be complicated to locate only one verse that states the full difficulty. that's the reason God risk-free an entire e book on the region. study it for the respond. If I had to furnish purely one verse, Jesus in Matthew 5:17 states that he has come, to not abolish the regulation, yet to fulfill it. the author of Hebrews shows how Jesus fulfilled the regulation, those making it so as that that's not in stress for Christians. as quickly as you finished a settlement, that's not in stress.

Mat 22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Act 15:19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
Act 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
1Jn 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his
commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
There are as many schools on this as there are opinions about anything. Your responsibility is to discern truth out of them all, for yourself. This requires correct information, self-examination and honesty. Without the honesty, and lack of preconcieved ideas, you will remain decieved by believing what others believe. You will also need a reliable reference, or standard, to base your judgments on. Find this, and you will have little difficulty making decisions for yourself. Telling the truth and treating others as you would have them treat you is as good a reference is I have ever found. But you must ultimately do your own work and find a standard you can live by. And don't be surprized when you get judged by the way you judge.
Therefore always remember: expectations are future resentments.
