I'm being harassed by my ex-boyfriends ex-wife for absolutely no reason. I don't even know her that well! She's sent me an email threatening me and calling me names. I've asked her what the problem is and we could resolve it like adults but she's insisting she's gonna beat my a**. Now, if this continues after I've told her to stop, can my copies of her emails be turned over to the police for terroristic threats? Anyone in law enforcement or in a law area, please help me out. I'm trying to dissolve this issue peacefully, but if all else fails I need to know what my options are.

well first make sure you keep ALL emails received and sent for evidence. Call your local police show them what you have and they should start a case for ya. Then go to your county court house and get a restraining order on this person for saftey of yourself and your family. Good luck

Contact the email or internet service provider, (such as whateverhernameis@yahoo.com, yahoo would be the email provider). The email address to contact should be abuse@emailprovider.com It's almost always "abuse". Forward them the emails that she has sent threatening you and explain to them that you have asked her several times to stop and discuss this as adults. If you have more than 1 email from her, send them all. Most internet service providers have an Acceptable Use Policy that prohibits harrassment either to or from their users and will cancel accounts that violate this policy.

Print them all out and save them. Go down to the court when you can and get a restraining order, you will have to pay to have it served to her. Then the next time she contacts you she will go to jail after and only after she is served.

Well emails have become inclusive of legal evidence. So keep the emails.
I dont know if you will have any luck with a restraining order if she actually hasn't done anything yet but you can try.

You're not being harassed by e-mails. Just because she sends them doesn't mean you have to open them.
