YES! You only should eat liquids or chopped up food, for the first 5 days! after that if the pain is still there u need to call ur dentist or where ever u got it done and let them see u cause it might be an infection.

After 4 days, if the pain is not subsiding, I would go back to the dentist. Have him/her check to make sure that the filling is not high on the tooth. Also it would be a good idea to go on an antibiotic, perhaps there is an infection under your tooth. Lastly and only the dentist will know this, is there a reason that the root canal might be painful. For example, did he stick anything beyond the tip of the tooth and into the surrounding tissue? Is the root filling material long and outside the tip of the tooth, or short and not down to the tip of the tooth? Did anything break inside the canal? Was it nice and dry and clean when he filled the canal? How does the x-ray of the tooth after the root canal look?
By the way, root canals are perhaps one of the most challenging procedures that dentists perform. You are working at the tip of a tooth perhaps some 2 centimeters beyond what you can see. Sometimes it is just difficult to say why a tooth isn't settling down after a root canal. Be patient, but contact your dentist.

If the pain hasn't subsided within a couple days, call your dentist. You may be developing an infection. It is better to be overcautious than risk tooth loss.

You went to a lot of expense and physical discomfort having the root canal done. Both you and your dentist want a successful outcome.

there's a great possibility and that's the an infection is eroding the bone away. I paid for a cap and a root canal and ended up having the comprehensive element pulled because of the fact of an infection above the cap. each and every of the bone became long gone concerning the dimensions of a nickle, that's a reasonably great section. I guess your dentist could set up a charge plan or you are able to desire to circulate to a dental college in case you have one on your section. The longer you wait, the less optinions you will could desire to have good tooth.

hello. I have no idea, will only say you should call the dentist who did the effort. I have not had a root canal done (yet). If it hurts to bite, eat lots of soup.call the dentist.
