There is a very important reason, well known..That people for their private interests mix and use the religion in order to achieve more, and to concur the world in the name of Godi(when it is nowhere written this, in any religious book).
I am officially christian, but not believer...I can tell you something. We always accuse christianism for the crimes in south America..In reality the crimes have been done by certain people, when the way to cincurre in those times was this...Using also the name of Jesus to im[pose their will..
We accuse islam. But also islam never tought to kill, as we see all the religions, and especially the monotheistc have the same base, and the same rules.
Nowdays, we speak about religious war of islam, but in reality it is not the religion which imposes this war, as it was not the christianism, and it is not still the christianism the cause of the bad in the world.Neither the islam...There are interests, there are reactions..reactions to the political actions...In every case bad, either reaction, either interest..But people use it as the only arm to fight...Wrong way, wrong decision, because it brings just the opposite of what the religions say..Just blood and war...And no religion would accept it..as no religion again i repeat is responsible

Almost all religions teach brotherhood and peace. Almost all religions teach superiority and war. The latter is how religion is a cause of violence. Don't believe me? Look at all the major religions and you'll find examples of how they've been used to justify war against either infidels outside the religion or heretics within the religion.

Religions, in spite of their supposed teachings of peace and tolerance, promote segregation, intolerance, superiority, and hatred. A religion cannot possibly teach that "we are right and *they* are wrong; we are saved and *they* are lost; we have it all figured out and *they* don't" without putting an emphasis on the negatives of religion.

You are correct. Religion should be a source of peace in the world. But consider the following passage from the Bible - Deut 13:6-11. With thinking like this you are compelled by your religion to kill people who believe differently then you do.
6"(A)If your brother, your mother's son, or your son or daughter, or the wife you cherish, or your friend who is as your own soul, entice you secretly, saying, '(B)Let us go and serve other gods' (whom neither you nor your fathers have known,
7of the gods of the peoples who are around you, near you or far from you, from one end of the earth to the other end),
8(C)you shall not yield to him or listen to him; (D)and your eye shall not pity him, nor shall you spare or conceal him.
9"(E)But you shall surely kill him; (F)your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
10"So you shall stone him to death because he has sought (G)to seduce you from the LORD your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
11"Then (H)all Israel will hear and be afraid, and will never again do such a wicked thing among you.

You seem to be eluding to Islam. First of all Islam is a form of Imperialist Expansionist Government, hiding under the guise of religion. If you won't accept Islam or become oa slave of some muslim, you will be murdered. Their cause is to take complete control of the planet and everyone on it, and live like they did 1500 years ago. Wow, sounds like Heaven!

Right! It's brotherhood, tolerance, and peace for your fellow believers and utter destruction and mayhem if you don't buy our hogwash. All religion is about terrorism. That's why us orcs love it so much!
Well, except maybe those damn pansie Unitarians. Pacifism? What fun is that???

Sixty years ago I was sharp enough to understand that teaching is only a wish for what might be done or accepted in the future and reality is experienced, not taught.

The same churches also teach and preach that they are the only right religion on earth. That is what makes organized religions the cause of all evil here on earth.

Friend: God did not create us to be religious. He created us to be like him. To be lovely people that love people.
