The federal Pell Grant has not been cut - it has actually been increased for the 2007-2008 school year. The maximum Pell (based on a $0 EFC (Expected Family Contribution)) was raised from the max of $4050 since the 2003-2004 school year to $4310 for the 2007-2008 school year.

You will have to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to determine the amount of Pell Grant for which you may be eligible. The amount adjusts based on what your EFC is. The max for a full time student with a 0 EFC is $4310; the max for a full time student with an EFC of 4110 is $400. So if your EFC is between 0 and 4110 you will get *something*.

Hope that helps.

Alot of things depend on how much you will get from a pell grant. They go on income and your status as a student such as Full Time , part time, etc. You would need to fill out a FAFSA first and then go from there. Its free and you are not obligated to take it. But if you are low income, there is a pretty good chance that you will get one and the money that is leftover comes to you in a check to pay for bills and living expenses!!

It depends. You idea what a small amount of money can be different from what the department of education will calculate of how much you will contribute towards your education. Complete the fafsa to determine if you are eligible.
