I agree to a certain extent. But I also know that when I go out that God is with me and when God is for and with me who can be against me. So I just keep shining my light for all to see

Hello,
No, this Christian can be quite the party animal and I enjoy many social situations with people. You can certainly avoid the negative experiences cited by paying your bills by mail or via the internet. With regards to pornography, you need not pitch your tent near Sodom like Lot did _:)
As far as rude people go, think of the words of Marcus Aurelius, a brilliant Roman Emperor of the 3rd century:
"Begin each day by telling yourself: Today I shall be meeting with interference, ingratitude, insolence, disloyalty, ill will, and selfishness-all of them due to the offenders' ignorance of what is good or evil. But for my part I have long perceived the nature of good and its nobility, the nature of evil and its meanness, and also the nature of the culprit himself, who is my brother; therefore none of those things can injure me, for nobody can implicate me in what is degrading (II,1)"
Quite Stoic but it has worked well for me and countless others. Tis amazing what you can learn from non-Christians at times.
Cheers,
Michael

You can't live in a bubble. I sometimes put up with the very "best" society has to offer at my job, but what your describing sounds like an opportunity to organize a neighborhood clean-up drive. As for what people do, their mannerisms don't even register as a blip on the radar screen of my attention. You're only as small as the things you let bother you.

There is tons of trash on the internet, yet you're still on here. I am a Christian and it doesn't bother me to see porno books in stores or beer bottles, because I know I'm not reading that magazine or drinking that beer. But you are judging people just by not wanting to be around them.

Yes I see things people do and how people behave. It is rude..But, the good thing is I only go shopping unless I have to. Walmart is a good example of this. I refuse to use the bathroom unless I absolutely have to. (I'll hold it if I can, until I get home.)

See a psychologist what you describe is the early stages of a disorder called agoraphobia.. It is a panic disorder and can easily be treated with therapy so you will not feel so oppressed in the world outside you house...
If left untreated agogaphobia has led to individuals not leaving their homes for fear of the outside world for years even decades..

I agree. I mean, I wouldnt go as far as to say people cough on me because I am a christian, but sin is in our faces constantly. If I need to go to the mall for something, very very seldom, my husband wont go. He refuses to go because of the way girls dress. It is horrible that no shoes, no SHIRT, no service applys for a bra, that covers MORE then a Bikini top.....But a girl can come in a literal bikini, and its ok!

yes, kinda tiring to see and hear all the evils in this world but what else would i do? i live in it. i instead, take everything that's been going around in this world as a challenge and a lesson. to see and hear other swear or even give you a glare, i take that as a lesson not to be on their way. to be nice to them even if they're not nice to me. i also evaluate myself.. i might have stepped on them or over take in a rude manner that i wasn't aware of... sometimes, we are so self centered that we tend to forget that we we're being rude or have done to hurt others..without knowing it. it's good to be also aware of the surroundings and the people. to understand how we can avoid being in the center of chaos..one must experience how it feels to be in it. so the next time you encounter it you know how to avoid it...

Hellos. Maybe you need to move to a nicer town. I hear you, but that stuff won't stop. A good cheesy quote that would fit nicely is this: "Be the change you would like to see in the world."

I wouldn't say annoyed so much as increasingly surprised at the downright gall of some people... maybe I don't get out enough not to be surprised or desensitized.
