People pray all the time for God to cure their diseases. At least some fraction of the time the disease will go into remission due to the grace of God. Then why hasn't anybody ever grown back missing limbs (at least not that I've heard of)? Surely there are tons of amputees out there praying for God to return their limbs. Why aren't any of them lucky enough to receive God's grace? Is cancer that much more important?

Because God is non-existant.

I'm not religious and don't believe God actually exists, but from what I understand, that's NOT how God works. He doesn't make life all peachy keen. He helps you GET THROUGH life's ailments. With faith the amputee will understand that this happened for a reason, and that he needs to stay strong and get through this with the help of God. There are plenty of amputees that have been healed spiritually through God. And if you have a problem with that answer, tell me why you are so against people using an imaginary being as a source for help during times when they feel all hope is lost, and don't feel they have the strength to go on on their own?

God is more concerned with your soul than your body, and He isn't the one who lost your limbs. If you lose them in war, that's the nature of war- people kill and maim each other. God din't cause the war, man did. If it was diabetes, that's considered self-inflicted these days. Accident? That takes people's mistakes. Birth defect? Exposure to manmade drugs or mutagens.
God promises to raise us from death in perfect bodies, Till then we have to maintain and patch up our bodies the best we can and not lose faith.

Friend: We were born with all the human parts necessary to live. When parts are lost, God has provided...grace to endure the loss, medical wisdom to create a manmade replacement and the ability for the body (at times) to allow another human part to be attached to ours.

Why didn't God heal Paul when he prayed three times for his affliction to be lifted from him. Why didn't He take Jesus down off of the cross when He was suffering? I will give you the same answer God gave to Paul when His request was denied. "My grace is sufficient for you."

If you truly have faith that God can heal your amputee, and you lead godly life and honor God in all you do, He can heal you.

He wants to use you for His purposes.

Some people, like Paris Hilton, need head amputations but alas, no such luck. So he neglects both

from this verse of the Quran , God shall test his servents with something of fear, hanger, loosing of wealth and fruites:

155. And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sâbirin (the patient ones, etc.).

156. Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: "Truly! To Allâh we belong and truly, to Him we shall return."

157. They are those on whom are the Salawât (i.e. blessings, etc.) (i.e. who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided-ones.
Quran 2:155-157

God gives us what we NEED and then sees what we do with that before He gives us more...

Does an Amputee really NEED the amputated part to be righteous?
