Nope... That's what tampoons were made for. So you can do your same everyday stuff w/o your period getting in the way. It has actually been proven to reduce the symptoms of PMS and the cramps that come during your period.

When you are on your period you should take it easy.
During this time your Body should not strain it self as this can effect you mentally.
Work out but dont go full on, set an easy pace.

no its actually good for you. you can actually burn more calories when you are on your period when you work out. It can help get rid of cramps and headaches too. so go work out!
