You're obviously very under-educated on the subject. I don't think any short answer is going to catch you up, you should do some independent research. However, humans are not necessarily direct descendants from apes. There were a lot of changes in between humans and the primates that came before us. We are distinctively different from apes, all races, and we have been for quite some time. As far as "white people," they have the complexion that they do because of their environment. Europe has less exposure to ultraviolet radiation than the rest of the world, which is what causes pigmentation of the skin, eyes, and hair.

Oh my goodness. Prejudice is directly related to stupidity. ain't it?

The color of your skin is determined by nothing more than the habitat of the generations of your ancestors, and their evolutional developments which occured as a result of their varying degrees of sun exposure.
No matter what race you are, we are all the same species.......to break it down more simply, it's like dogs. A basset hound and a rottweiler are different in size, shape, color, and personality due to centuries of specific breeding. So they are only a few genetic differences away from being the exact same animal-because they are both of the same species-DOG.
White, or "other" races-we are all human.

Snow. Survival.

Black man in the snow? He's target practice.

White man in the dry grasslands? Same thing.

Camouflage.

Our skin color is a result of our environment. Survival of the fittest. Dark skin in sunnier climates protect a person. That's why we tan. Fair skinned people didn't fare as well as dark skinned, and therefore, darker skin became the norm. In places where there is less sun our skin is lighter. It allows us to process vitamin d from sunlight in lower light environments. Therefore lighter skinned people fared better in lower light environments.

You are a stupid ape. You should probably go to college, get a life.
Take an anthropology class, but don't admit that you don't know how or why people have different skin tones.
You'll embarrass yourself.

Having little melanin in the skin allows vitamin D to be produced. Thus it is an evolutionary advantage to places you are not exposed to the sun.

Why ask this in the R&S section??

Jimmy, if you are trying to use race to disprove evolution, or to say that whites are the "chosen"...you are going to fail so badly....wow
