In a way I know why I am always "down", I was raped by my uncle when I was nine and still can't get over it. Plus, I just found out something that my dad done that could get him in a LOT of trouble if I told, I just don't know what to do...it is my fault he done "it" anyways...but I am so stressed...this had just added to the depression and suicidal feelings...on one hand...I can't get my dad in trouble with the law, on the other...how could I keep this to myself?? Sorry if I am rambling..I really need help!

Also, I am always paranoid that everyone is out to get me, and that people are always talking about me. I am only 19 years old...why is this happening?

You are "thinking seriously about suicide atleast once a week". That is an indication of a serious illness........one that needs immediate treatment by a qualified Dr.

Any child or teen who was molested or raped
is going to eventually have the kind of emotional/mental health problems you are experiencing.
You were seriously wronged. The good news is, with treatment from medication and/or therapy, these strong
feelings you are experiencing can become less strong.
They don't have to rule your life forever. Yes you have been
"damaged", but you also have a chance to move toward "healing"
Yes, you really DO need help.

When an adult makes a decision or does an action, no one "GETS HIM INTO TROUBLE" He has already gotten himself into trouble. Covering for him, or allowing him to do it again, or letting him get away with it can be a bigger problem (especially for other people)

Having a "name" for your illness really does nothing to help your getting well. Very unlikely you are going insane or crazy.....but you are experiencing confusing and emotionally painful symptoms. Please don't delay. Walk into the nearest ER and they will see you receive treatment, call a rape/suicide hotline, call 911 that's the fastest way to access it.
When you are face to face with the mental health people you may feel too embarrassed to say what you are really feeling and thinking. But, unless you are REAL with them, they cannot help you.

Consider taking a small piece of paper, write what you are feeling and why you are feeling that way on one side of the paper. Hand it to the healthcare people.

Antidepressants have the tendency to make depression worse especially in patients that have bipolar disorder. Most antidepressants are not even FDA approved for use in treating bipolar and some studies have suggested that they do much more harm than good. The drug companies don't want to pay for studies on bipolar depression because it's not as large a market and because of evidence that suggest antidepressants may not help bipolar patients. It keeps doctors thinking, ah depressed well here's an antidepressant without considering bipolar because there is simply not enough evidence either way and without money from drug companies, there won't be evidence because again, psychiatric treatment is a corprate run industry and bipolar disorder is not common enough for people to give a damn. Talk to the doctor that is prescribing your antidepressants. You might find that you'll want to go off the antidepressant all together or he might want to up your dosage or switch your brand. Basically, it happens.

There are different kinds and levels (intensities) of bi-polar disorder. It is actually something that is often very hard to diagnose due to how different it can seem from person to person. I am also on the depressive end of things and I send my sympathies. And, just so you know, paranoia can be present as a psychotic feature in both depressed and manic episodes.

While I may have had thousands upon thousands of suicidal thoughts and urges, grown up around bi-polar people, etc... I am not a doctor and I cannot tell you if you're bi-polar or not. I would recommend you go to the following site and take the questionnaire:

http://www.bipolar.com/what_is_bipolar/mood_disorder_questionnaire.html

You also may want to look through the rest of the site to familiarize yourself with the different kinds of the disorder and the different symptoms. After you've educated yourself, if you're still concerned, you may want to print out the questionnaire with your answers and take it to your health care provider.

I wish you the best of luck.

you're not crazy, hun. there are two types of bi-polar disorder, stage I and II. make sure to get it checked out by a licensed therapist or your family doctor. not everyone that suffers from bi-polar disorder has the exact symptoms that are mentioned. you may simply need to talk to someone and maybe get on some medication to help with what you are feeling. you could also be depressed, or have borderline personality disorder, which i have. there are many websites that are very helpful in explaining the disorder. no matter what, always consult professional help! good luck and i hope this helped a little.

I understand how you feel. I went through something very similar a few years ago, when I went through the worst time with my then boyfriend now husband, who is bipolar. I have anxiety/depression. I do not believe you are bipolar, since my husband is and your traits really don't match his. You sound a little more like me. When I was depressed, my anxiety made it worse because I always THOUGHT about my depression, that made me anxious, and that made me depressed...bad cycle. I was very insecure and still kinda am. Please go talk to a doctor or find a counselor. I first went to my college counselor when I felt that way. I hope this helps. Please don't try to take this on by yourself.

You are not crazy, sit down and figure out why you feel so down. Once you know that you can come up with a plan to change whatever gets you down. And its called teh TEENAGES. its normal. If you ever think seriously about suicide, call the suicide hotline for help and talk to your parents.

If you are never happy then your disorder is unhappiness.
There you will have to chose the way you have been taught to be happy or to try new ones. Any false happiness will be easy to see. So you don't use that system of thought.
