Three questions:

Which stages are most anticipated this year? (I want to watch a couple of the best with my girlfriend... just need to know when to make the trip (90 miles by bike :D) to see them with her)

Where can I find any kind of accessible information for someone who's very interested but doesn't know much about it?

and

What's going on with Levi Leipheimer? Wasn't he supposed to make a very strong showing?

Stages 14, 15 & 16 look like they could be pretty decisive. There will be some tough climbs on 15 & 16. The time trials also should separate the contenders from the pretenders. Some good websites are www.letour.com or www.bicycling.com. The versus channel has some good info on their website, too. (www.versus.com) Also the Yahoo cycling page has daily updates and standings.

Levi should make a good showing. I don't think he'll win, though. Maybe top 5. Watch out for Alexander Vinokourov. The first week or so is for the sprinters with mostly flat stages. The real race will begin when the hit the mountains next week sometime.

Stage 8(Sun July 15th) is the first one with multiple Cat 1 climbs and finish at the top of the mountian. Won't determine anything but we should be the first look at who the climbers will be this year.

Stage 9 is the first set of HC climbs with a Cat 1 in the middle.

Stage 13 (Sat. July 21st) is the first of 2 time trials. Chance for the time trial specialist to make up time or seperate from the pack.

Stage14 one day after the first time trial we get back to back HC climbs finishing at the top of a mountian. After this day the number of contenders will be down to just a few.

Stage 16 (Wed July 25th) Again two HCs with a Cat 1 in the middle and a finish at the top of the mountain. Look for those that fell behind on 14 to try to make up ground as this is the last true mountian stage.

Stage 19(Sat July 28th) Last time trial and last chance to catch the leader.

As far as Levi goes we have not hit the mountain yet so being within 1 minute of the leader definately makes him a contender.
