Well I relax sometimes reading the BIBLE.
However there is a natural herb I use too, call Valerian Root. It stinks though but the more it stinks the better it is.
I do know this works for panic attacks too. Most take it to have a restful sleep. I have even given it to my dog when she is like totally tripping or when we go on a trip. It calms her down but only give one with a treat.
You can get it at Wal-Mart for about $4.00 a bottle
Try it! it really works. Take one or two.
EDIT:
Also sometimes I think of a quite place I would like to be. I walked the beach at night when I went to California and it was quite and peaceful listening to the waves. If you need some nature sounds I got plenty I can send you. Just let me know.

Well what ever you do don't take madication it will just get worse ok. And you should go in the basement take a heating pad with you watch t.v. amd before you know it you are relaxed. Or this. To help you relax, set aside 15 minutes, organise some peaceful warm, surroundings where you will not be disturbed, and recreate the experience of your aromatherapy massage. Light a couple of candles and turn off the lights in your chosen room, add a few drops of the oils that were used in your massage, to a bath or as a room fragrance, play the relaxation music you listened to during your massage and just enjoy! I hop e this helps

Well try to do something that you love or are passionate about to take your mind off other things, I often just go out and hit tennis serves or kick a soccer ball around because I love sports. Also depending on what all this stuff you have to do is, I find that volunteering somewhere like a homeless shelter or something such as that is very humbling and lets you relax and put a new perspective on your life and all of your tasks.

Well I am a Massage Therapist so the first thing I am going to say is go get a Swedish/ Relaxing Massage... It slows your heart rate and allows to to calm down naturally...
Also you should try a some breathing techniques... and some guided imagry... It really works I promise...
When you are starting to feel stressed out and tense... take a time out and go for a walk and maybe do some streches for yourself... Since most people feel tension in their necks because naturally in a stressful situation people tend to shrug their shoulders.. take a minute to stretch your neck and take a feel deep breathes while doing so.... Good luck!

This is just me, so yeah. If I'm having trouble sleeping, I will listen to the sounds around me and try to seperate the sounds, i.e. traffic buzz, the fan or heater on, wind, etc. First I will focus on the nearest sound, and after a while focus on a sound further away, and then further away. While you're trying to listen, your breathing also alters so you can hear better and I think that has something to do with it also.
All the best

Lie on your bed, on your back with your knees up and palms facing the cieling. Close your eyes and just pretend you are floating on air. Roll to one side and sttay for a while. Then slowly sit up with legs crossed and hands resting on knees. keep eyes closed whole time. with your eyes closed, look up, down, left, right and diagnolly, squeeze your eyes shut and open them. you should feel refreshed and relaxed. do this in the morning to feel awake and alert. if you want to learn even more learn how to do yoga. with the calm breathing and relaxed positions you should be comfortable in no time.

I put my direct TV on channel 800 something, called the joint, it plays reggae music, and my dogs lick my feet if I take my socks off.....lol
Oh wow, it does wonders, though. Get a pedicure, or a foot rub from a friend, or just let your dogs lick your feet until you are relaxed, but it does work.......
