Well ... right away Bubbles ruined the joke. The immigration policy I outlined is from actual policies of the nation of Mexico.

Illegal immigrants are criminals. The US should treat them as any other criminals are treated.

As long as we're talking about "fair"--illegal alien supporters keep spouting off about the lack of ways for poor Hispanics to come here and how "unfair" that is. What they don't tell you is that almost half of ALL LEGAL IMMIGRATION is from Latin America and most of the other half is from Asia. Legal immigration now totals one million people each year. What they don't tell you is that ONE COUNTRY, MEXICO sends 15-20% of all LEGAL immigrants each year, and has for the past two decades. What they don't tell you is that our legal immigration system favors "family reunification" (including not only a nuclear family of mom, dad, and minor kids, but the parents of mom and dad, their adult kids, and their siblings AND the families of the siblings) which results in a large number of poorly educated and unskilled immigrants who are also possible workers even though they don't enter with an employment-based green card. There are only about 140,000 employment-based green cards, so roughly 800,000 green cards go to family members. Now, in the interest of "fairness", how fair is it that ONE COUNTRY monopolizes such a large number of our immigrant visas, or that American taxpayers end up subsidizing the importation of poverty? (The financial sponsorship requirements are deliberately set low, at 125% times the poverty level, to allow the poor to sponsor their relatives who are likely to be, you guessed it, poor as well.)

ya I knew it was their policy isn't it so not fair? I listened to that on the radio and i thought if their immigration policies are like that then ours should be the same..........I think it is sad they think they can come here and live on welfare, stay illegally, etc...... I live in New Mexico which is near the border and it is ridiculous........in stores they speak spanish and you can't understand them.
in most public schools more than half are immagrants, and there are special programs for them...... we get behind...the people who have parents who acctually pay for me. Usually in every class we are 1-2 months behind.

No. but then we are better then Mexico.

This is my response for legal immigrants.

1. this is needed for everyone's sake
2. we do need some unskilled as well as trade workers
3. if they need a translator they should bring their own and be in an English class (before test time, while paperwork is filed)
4. all citizens should vote, public office is fine except the federal level (after all I think there's one town that voted for a goat as their mayor)
5. They should qualify only after a certain amount of time (paid taxes for awhile) the truth is no one who has worked for a living really wants to to go on welfare, a job pays so much better
6. no that's dumb
7. pointless
8. yup.

And they wonder why we are fighting for them to get back to their own country and leave us to ours . After reading the other answers I ask myself how many people who want illegals to have a free walk into the US are reading this and how many are giving a thumbs down on people who want this for the US . If mexico is so great you have to come here to tell everyone about it then we need to incorporate their laws . Then again why don't people in mexico go into the the streets saying how great mexico is ?

It's funny that "summermoondancer2004" spouted off for like a thousand words and condemned this plan because it lacks common sense but it's an actual plan used by Mexicans against other people.

Mexican immigration freaks in America are - freaks. They NEVER have common sense.

yes its Fair come to America You Speak English.

No and for a variety of reasons it is not a fair policy
First you have to allow a person to learn English after they come not before, because many times there are no programs to learn English in a non English speaking country.

2 we don't need professionals we need unskilled workers to support our economy. Our issue isn't finding highly skilled workers it is filling our jobs for unskilled workers and since we have a negative job fill rate that means we have to find workers from somewhere...so unless you are going to insist that people have a minimum of 4 children a household we have to replace retiring workers somehow.
3. you just slapped every American Indian in the face with that one. Sorry but you cannot expect some one to testify against a criminal if they do not speak our language fully or have a good grasp on it. It is better to interpret for them and have that testimony instead of a criminal walking free...sometimes this is the form of a child being raped by some ill conceived adult.
4. immigrants can't vote unless they become a US citizen and anyone that obtains the status of US citizen has earned their right to vote. Most especially those that are dying in Iraq so that you can write such bs.
immigrants already do not receive welfare and in fact all respected studies show that immigrants do not use services and that US citizens use them at a higher rate than immigrants do. Immigrants sign an agreement with immigration not to be a burden or receive welfare.
private property and purchasing it is the American way this is not a communist country and we should not require anyone who purchases their property to relinquish their right to it if they purchase it with their hard earned money. In fact this would be unconstitutional. So you would have to ammend the constitution
Again protesting is a constitutionally protected right so you would need to ammend the constitution though I think that anyone should be allowed to protest, freedom of speech is not exclusive to only whites
so are you going to put hand cuffs on a 2 or 3 year old and jail them and then throw them on the street in some foreign country? almost every one of the 12 million live in mixed status households which means that the children that are here illegally frequently live with legal parents. Their parents don't want to wait 20 years to be reunited with their children and with good cause.

Larry, first off I am not Mexican I am a US citizen and I was born here as were my parents and grandparents and great grandparents.
Second, this isn't Mexico if you want to live by their laws and spit on our constitution then I will provide you with a plane ticket and you can rip up your birth certificate and US passport and renounce your citizenship at the nearest US embassy so get the hell out of my country if you don't like our constitution.
