One of our cats has been through two courses of antibiotics in the past month, as they had diagnosed her with urinary tract infection.

When that still didn't curb the inappropriate urination (with some blood in it), the vet decided to x-ray & found a kidney stone, today.

We know that very expensive surgery is an option to treat this. What I'd like to know from everyone who answers is whether you've heard of or experienced any other, less expensive but successful, methods of treating kidney stones in cats.

Is it a kidney stone or a bladder stone? The kidney stone needs surgery. The bladder stone can be removed with surgery, but a prescription diet may be able to dissolve it over time.

Your cat is in pain, surgery is the only way to remove it. A special diet later will help .
