Never when you can't supervise. With all the nuts and wackos, you are taking a big chance. There are also coyotes now even in urban areas.

Well, you can't, unless you have a collar and dog run for him, or a well-fenced yard, and even then, you're taking a chance at losing him. And if the weather is very cold or very hot, he shouldn't be left out longer than it takes to do his business. (The breed matters a lot too, you need to do a little reading up on your breed -- or mix -- of dog.)

If you want to leave your puppy outside already, I wonder if you should really have gotten a dog. They are pack animals. They want to be with their pack -- and now, that's YOU. To tie a dog out and leave him for hours or days or always, is just plain cruel.

Look at it this way -- if you wouldn't like to be isolated like that, the pup probably won't like it either.

You can take the puppy out in the yard and go with him. Do not leave him outside. Dogs should live inside as part of the family. Outside they get parasites, fleas, are bored so they dig, bark, become lonely and aggressive. Not a good life.

You should not leave your puppy outside. Do you know that people steal animals out of people's yards? If you do decide to then i wouldnt recommend it until all the pup's shots are done.

I wouldnt leave a puppy outside unattended. It may get bored and wander off, or try to chew/eat something it shouldnt.

when you are in the house. do not leave him out there when you are gone. when your puppy is outside...if you are not with him. you should stay on the first floor and look out the window often to make sure he/she is doing ok.

maybe when you in the house leave you puppy inside but when your gone or something leave it outside you wouldnt want to know what you puppy has been doing while your out would you ? and when it's a cold day leave you puppy inside you wouldnt want it to freeze to death you know ?but when it's like hot days like summer leave it outside so it can be free. but it depends how old your puppy is if it's still way to young to be outside but it's slef then i think you should leave it inside for it's safety my puppy is now 5 years old we leave it outsdie but sometimes i go outside just to have a play with it ...ok my answer is really long but that's the truth
