He died according to the predetermined counsel and foreknowledge of God. His sinless blood made atonement for the sins of the world. That is why John Baptist proclaimed: "Behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world."

My sin stained blood couldn't even make atonement for my own soul.

The great Apostle Peter was puffed up to imagine that he would defend Jesus to the death.
Those who speak this way have no concept of the power of the Prince of Darkness, before whom we are all little children.
Jesus doesn't need me to save Him.
I desperately need Him to save me.

Catholics are there at every Mass. The same sacrifice is made present. Not a different on or a new one but, the same one. We stand at the foot of the cross with John and the Blessed Mother. That is what the term used in the text means when they say "In remembrance" It means a bringing forward

God sent His Son Jesus Christ to Die on that Cross because no one on earth or in the earth (Hell) could erase the sins of All mankind from the Beginning to the end as Jesus Could and Did..
So No, because I am a sinner, I would not have been good enough to take that cross.. Jesus was without Sin.
The Word says, "For ALL have sinned and fallen short of the Glory!" But Christ was without Sin........

I couldn't have taken His place. I am not without sin or worthy to do so. I would like to say I would, but I'll never know.
