I have been buying Loblaw's and President's Chopice canned cat food for years. Lately every time I open a can and put some in my cat's bowl, which is on the kitchen counter to keep the Yorkie out of it, I find teeny, tiny red ants in it. Not one or two, but dozens. I have a feeling there are ant eggs in the cat food cans that hatch when the can is opened and air gets at it. Can this be true? I called the 800 number on the can and they said they had never heard of this problem.

Try opening the can, leaving it out for a few minutes as you watch to make sure not ants get in; then put the whole thing or at least the food in a sealed ant-proof container. Later, check back to see if any ants are in there. If you suspect that the oxygen is causing the eggs to hatch, then try opening the container every once in a while, but make sure no ants get it.

They aren't ants from the can. What you can do, and this works great. Is get a white chaulk and draw a circle on the counter bigger then the bowl you feed your cat from. Make sure there is no gaps, must be a completey solid circle.
Then set the cats bowl inside the circle.
You should have no more ant problem now.
The powder from the chaulk forms a barrier for the ants.

How interesting.
Ants won't walk over a thick chalk line, so next time you open a fresh can divide it onto 2 saucers. place both saucers (or plates) about 6 inches apart on the counter near the usual place. Then using sidewalk chalk or chalkboard chalk, draw a thick line (about an inch wide) around only one plate/saucer. After awhile inspect both plates. If the ants are coming in from somewhere, they will be in the plate without the chalk circle around it. If the eggs were in the food, then both plates will have ants.
Good luck, and let us know what you find!

Well the company should refund you for that problem . If it hasn't expired and you see these little things come out when you open the cat food , take it back where you bought it from .
There is a chance someone that works in their company may be a animal hater , I would never buy that brand again. Vets always suggest to feed cats dry food also ,its just more healthier passing through their intestines.

Hello,
Millions of people all over the world are affected by hair loss, and it's not only the males that suffer this condition as even females are affected by this problem. What's sad is that many of the individuals affected by such a condition end up just accepting what is happening to their hair due to lack of information or options.
If you are looking for natural hair regrowth methods this is a good guide you can read http://hairagain.toptips.org
Cheers.

The ant eggs wouldn't survive the cooking process. Can you watch closely to see where the ants are coming from? They may be climbing up your counters. Put the food bowl in a plate or large bowl of water to make a "moat". Ants won't swim across to get to the food.

Try asking the vet or something. But I'm not sure. Try a different type of cat food.

I doubt it.... the food is canned very hot, which would kill anything in it.
Put the bowl someplace else, see if the ants still find it.
