God certainly does not view all human wrongdoing as equal. Scripture divides first between unrighteous and wicked. Unrighteous is in the thinking and wicked in the doing.

The big mistake among Christians and others is not seeing that sin is not an action but a condition. God considers heart motive as sin and the thinking out of those motives as unrighteousness and the acting out as wickedness.

Technically murder, adultery, rape, fornication, lies, smoking, drinking, etc., etc., are not sins but the symptoms or perversions which issue from the sin nature.

In respect of the sin nature no man is better than another as far as potential and separation from God is concerned. In respect to how they have dealt with that nature there is a vast difference; and that is one reason why the laws and justice exist.

If any Christian says that no action is worse than another; or fail to see or teach the difference between the disease of sin and its symptoms; well you are right in pointing out that their rocker is no longer in balance. Even God agrees with your position.

Well for sure, some sins are more harmful and painful for those affected by them, the net result is the same.
Unfortunately, even the criminal justice system has had great difficulty as of late punishing people who have committed horrendous crimes against others. I think it is very strange that a person can not be put to death for torturing and murdering multiple victims because the manner of the execution could be considered "cruel and unusual".

I do consider murder and rape worse than a white lie.

The problem Christians run into when trying to reason this is they say all sins are the same. I am not so sure that's Biblical as Christ talked about how for certain cities it would be worse for them than Sodom and Gomorrah...thus showing a type of judgment for the sins they are committing.

Thus, Christians can't explain this the correct way as it should be stated that all sin separates us from God. White lies are sins and murder and rape are sin. I believe that God judges us according to our sin, thus all people who have sin in their lives go to hell. I won't speculate that there will be worse punishment for some in hell, as hell is separation from God.

It's sticky. But as a Christian, it bothers me when people say all sins are the same, because I don't think we have the Biblical backing to proclaim that.

Jesus did die for all sins, so this does make one sin fairly a similar using fact the different and we do know that the guy who did a worst sin would be greater grateful than the guy who did a lesser sin as they're forgiven. We do know that blaspheming the Holy Spirit is a unforgivable sin. i do no longer comprehend why you're speaking approximately punishment however, the punishment replaced into washed away by ability of Jesus. i could speedier say, that the guy who murdered could get carry of a crown for no longer being a liar and the liar could get carry of a crown for no longer being a assassin. i assume what i'm attempting to assert is that the sin is taken care of, instead of staring at this look on the stable which you will gain this as which you will get carry of crowns, which you will then lay on the ft of Jesus. in case you % to stroll in this existence devoid of sin, then you certainly could desire to love each thing which you do. there's no regulation in love.

I think they are saying that in regards to the merit of sin applying towards salvation non is regarded as less trespass than another. You will not be able to say, my sin was less so I deserve to go to heaven. In this light all sin is equally the same, opposition to God and no substance towards salvation

By the Word:

Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Of course sins vary and I do not know who told you different. There are some sins that will immediately kill your soul and others that are just venial but they do not lead to death.

christians don't actually believe that no matter how many times they repeat that lie. If they believed all sin was equal they would not selectively target "sins" like homosexuality and abortion and ignore others.

not all sins are the same:

Jesus answered, "You would have no authority over Me, unless it had been given you from above; for this reason he who delivered Me to you has the greater sin." John 19:11
