Just stay at an airport hotel. You should be able to get a room for around $100. for the night; use Expedia or Travelocity or some other search site to look for hotels at the airport. You can probably get a free shuttle to them. There are always plenty of places to eat in are around airport hotels. You don't want to spend a bunch of money for a fancy hotel when you will not really be there long enough to use the services. Most cruise ships in Miami will let passengers start boarding between noon and 1:00 PM. So stay at the airport, sleep late, don't bother with breakfast (although some chains like Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Best Western have free breakfast) because you will be eating constantly when you get on ship. Its about 45 minutes to an hour from the airport to the cruise port. So leave the hotel about 11:00 Am and you you be be there in plenty of time.

Try booking through the name your own price option at Priceline. I did this for my Miami cruise, and stayed in a hotel right near the airport for $50. There was a free shuttle to and from the airport to the hotel. I took the shuttle back to the airport on the day of my cruise, and then booked with Carnival/Royal carribbean for their transport from the airport.

Remember, if you use the name your own price, you are locked in that price and cannot change or cancel your reservations. So only use this if you do not plan on having any changes. You should be able to get a 3 or 4 star for under $65, as long as there are no major events going on during your stay. You can easily stay for $50 in a 3 or 4 star hotel room if it is not a friday or saturday.

Don't stay near the cruise ships there really isn't much there. I suggest staying in south beach and enjoying the beach, shopping and nightlife of Miami. Try to find something on Collins ave or Ocean dr. Last time I went I stayed at Nassau suites, small boutique hotel close to everything, kinda pricey but nice. Right now expedia has a sale on hotels, so you could probably get a great deal.

Holiday Inn on the Bay. There really are no cheap motels in Miami and this hotel is close to where the cruise ships dock, you can see them from your room. The great Bay Market is right across the street so you can have lots of fun there before you cruise. Cost for room is about $127 per night and the rooms go fast so get one real early.

Your young toddlers are in all possibility going to be bored on the LVH. The final time I verify they closed down the arcade and there are no longer the different attractions. the only different inn interior strolling distance is the Rivera that's around the line. you would be extra helpful off staying at between the fee variety inns on the strip. there is the Circus Circus and the Excalibur that are the two style of a unload, yet there will be alot to do for youths. you additionally can stay at Ballys that isn't would desire to many stuff for toddlers, yet is interior the midsection of the action.
