I have had one, as have a friend or two. One of the things we hold in common is that we were drastically changed from it,
the path we were on in life changed radically for the better,
and became deeper.

It happens, however people want to classify it.

In shamanic teachings, the initiate has to die, in order to be reborn able to traverse the underworld. Generally, it is in "civilized" societies where people have lost the connection to death, and are skittish about it.

Well i think they are freaky, i have had two or three. Once I fell 10 feet through a ceiling, then i fell 5 feet off a fallen tree , landed on a smaller branch and then fell 5 more feet to the ground and I was incredibly close to having a definatly fatal car accident .

They are a simple biological event when the brain begins to shut down.

They have been able to simulate NDEs with test pilots in high-g tests

I think they are real, serious experiences. Two of my friends had NDEs.

I think they're interesting. I've read that the light people see is just oxygen deprivaton though. I would like to speak to somebody who's had one. that would be cool.

Hallucination due to shortage of blood carrying oxygen to the brains. It is akin to dreaming when you sleep, just more severe.

Not real. It just your bodies reaction to dieing but hey if it makes you feel better more power to you.

Hey Jersey Rick did you see the vids of them doing the g-force tests? :D Those were so awesome I wish I could pull 9 g's

ive had three

two in Iraq and when at home
the one at home happened when i was 16, i was so close to dying in a drive-by.
it changed my life
the two in Iraq just pissed me off and made me look forward to getting out of the army
