Somebody had told me that it might be the food that I am feeding her. I feed her Purina Kitten Chow. Its not worms since she had her check up and its all good. Could it be the food?

It can look that way from diarrhea or constipation---anything that causes straining. A sudden change in diet is often the culprit. A vet visit is in order.

It sounds like the kitten has a bad case of diarrhea causing it's little butt to swell. I would try to find a better quality kitten food and see if that helps. Are you feeding the kitten milk? They should not have cow's milk cause most cats are lactose intolerant. They can have specially formulated cat milk or goat's milk but if the kitten is already sick with diarrhea I would stop all milk at this time if she is getting any at all.

Your kittens food should not be causing this problem. It sounds like a problem with the anal glands. There may be an infection or something else. If the redness doesn't go down by morning then you should take it to the vet.

First, you should get the cat checked by a vet. Second, it could be the litter you are using. I read something about clay litter being bad for them somehow. Unfortunately, I do not remember the details of the article. Try Fresh Step. It is great.

Her anal glands might be clogged. If her stools are not firm enough it will not empty her anal glands like normal. A groomer knows how to empty anal glands. It sounds like it is not only clogged but infected too. So at this point your probably need to take her to the vet to get it better.

Get this - cats CAN get tonsilitis....and guess what one of the main symptoms is? A red mouth & bum!

I would, if I were you, take her to a vet. She will need some antibiotics if it is tonsilitis.....

One of my cats get's tonsilitis on occasion and the first symptoms I see are a red bum & slightly off sounding meow
