I don't believe in the Mormon belief that Indians are Jewish because science has proven this to be wrong. But I do believe in the Mormon doctrine that everyman should have a harem!

Just look at this proof. Did you know that the Brigham Young that has a Mormon college named for him had 51 wives.

In my opinion Mormons are truly the gods of pimping:)

Peace and Many Celestial Wishes!

Yeah except you will be disappointed when you join and realize that you can only have one wife. Polygamy was only practiced for a short time by a rather small percentage of the church membership- less than 20% at it's peak.

You could become a Fundamentalist Mormon- entirely different religion - they will let you have as many wives as you want.

First, not EVERY man could have more than one wife. One of the requirements for taking a second wife was that the man had to be able to afford, not only a second wife, but the children tat would result.

Second, I want to know what all te names of Brigham Young's 51 wives. As far as I know, he had less than 30.

If you want a harem, how are you going to be able to afford them? And what of the children?

My husband and I are what is classified as inactive Mormons, so I have a little inside info here. While the early church did have the polygamy thing going in the beginning, it has since been abolished by the head church in Salt Lake. But there are others who have left the founding church and have hung on to the polygamist life-style. So don't bother joining just so ya can have a 'harem', it has been officially out-dated..sorry for ya....lol!

It would seem that you are born about 110 years too late boodyaboy! Wilford Woodruff said that it seemed right to stop this practice in 1890. The Mormons in Salt Lake City don't believe that way, but there are spinter groups that do.

The Latter Day Saints around 1890 decreed that polygamy was no longer going to be practiced in their belief. However, those wives of polygamy would be grandfathered in.

However, the Fundamentalist latter Day Saints (a la Warren Jeff's group) are the primary polygamy sect.

I am Mormon. We do not practice polygamy anymore, and have not for over a century. We believe that polygamy is only right if it is called of God, and in your case, I can see that it is not called of God.

Polygamy is no longer practiced by the church. The practice of polygamy was outlawed by the US government and when they started to throw the church leaders in jail and confiscate Church property the practice was discontinued.
