I am interested in birds and find them to be quite fun.

Since I don't have time because of my work hours, I was wondering would budgies be a good choice for a person who doesn't have time to put too much care into them other than spend a minute or two feeding them everyday?

Budgies may get bored and start bad habits. If you don't mind not being able to take it out of the cage, canaries or finches are GREAT! They're pretty, make cute noises, are cheap, and easy to clean and take care of. They will be much happier with no human interaction than the budgie will. Good luck!

If you don't have time to take a bird out of its cage, and give it attention then buy a pair or even 3 so they keep each other company. But if you want something just to decorate the room or whatever the reason then maybe you should consider finches. But if you do decide to buy a few budgies give them a roomy cage so they can fly around, and each of them have their own space.

Yes, but get at least 2 to keep each other company. They will play all day with each other. Have a big, roomy cage and lots of different types of perches and a bunch of toys--they love toys! Change the bottom of the cage frequently, and give them fresh food and water every day. Add a good pelleted food to the diet as well as a good seed mix, and you'll have healthy and happy budgies! :)

Budgies are social birds and need companionship. It would be okay, though, if you get two of them.
On the other hand, canaries like to be solitary. Or you could get finches and let them entertain each other while you are gone.
If you like to watch birds but can't spend much time with them, your best bet is probably to get 2 birds. That could be even more fun to watch.
I recommend leaving the radio on for them when you are gone. Mine like classical music.

My family is a busy one, and our budgies have thrived with their cages being changed once a week, and their food and water checked on every few days. We also talk to them when we're in the room, like if we're doing homework or if my parents are cleaning. If you want to get a budgie, get two so they can keep each other company. Make sure to get large feeding containers and one for water, as well as toys.
