I think that it will end the way that God's Holy Spirit told Peter it was going to end.

2 Peter 3:7 But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. 8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. 11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! 13 But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Of course, Peter could mean that the sun will go Nova or something like that. But that's how it's going to end.

The world will end in billions of years when our sun destabalizes and goes Super Nova... Whether or not humans or our evolutionary decendants will be here for the event is debatable..

At the rate things are currently going humans could quite possibly wipe themselves out.. Who knows for sure what species will dominate if we as humans wipe ourselves out..

I think it will end in a way that an Earth, thousands maybe millions of years from now would have to describe.

It will happen according to the way of God. Every scienctific process and law occuring in the universe happens only with the knowledge and will of God.

“With Him are the keys (to the treasures) of the Unseen that no one knows but He. He knows whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the earth’s shadows, not a thing, freshly green or withered, but it is (inscribed) in a clear record” (Quran, Sura 6:59).

"So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire; there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth". - Jesus (Matt. 13:49)

Does that give you a clue?

Why can't it be a little of both? That's half the problem with the world these days...it has to be "science" or it has to be "religion"...maybe one day somebody (besides me) will figure out that its *both*.

the government will turn on all religion and destroy it to stop the violence blaming religion for the problems in the world and it will cause it to end.
