I have had depression for the last 6 months and only gotten worse and worse as I feel I have stuffed my life. For the last 6 months I have barely eaten anything,(maybe half a roll for lunch, dinner and something for breakfast) not drunk water, done no exercise and smoked a lot, my body has gotten used to it but I look horrible and feel horrible and am sick of feeling so horrible all the time. I know I have brought it all on myself but just wondering iwhat this can cause and if this is the reason I feel so out of it and slow and vague all the time? I feel so dumb!

You first need to treat the depression. Once you begin to feel better, your appetite will improve. As you begin to eat more food, your body will begin to receive the nutrients it needs and will respond accordingly. Nothing works well if it doesn't have the proper fuel. See your doctor and be honest about how you feel. You need to get on some antidepressant medication. This first step will help you recover. Your thinking will become clearer, and you will generally feel better. Good luck.

First thing i want to say is your diet is not going to help you one bit.if your body has gotten used to it why do you in your own words "look horrible and feel horrible".i suffered from depression for quiet a few years and the way you treat you body makes a massive difference.im not saying its gonna be a miracle cure but you will feel much better and you wont feel as hopeless.i used not eat very much either,i smoked 25 grams of tobacco a day, drank only fizzy drinks and a lot of alcohol.i used to not have energy to do anything either so i got very little exercise aswell.all of the way you say youre treating your body will definetly be one factor towards why youre feeling slow and vague.if you try to start eating regular and build yourself up to a good diet bit by bit that will make a massive difference.drink water tru-out the day.good nutrition and hydration makes your body feel good and in turn makes you feel good overall.chain smoking is not good for energy either and makes you un-motivated to do exercise if it has you out of breath a lot.when youre feeling so low i know myself its hard to get motivated to make little changes even when you know theyll help but try to improve your diet.it will make a massive difference.sometimes i go visit friends for the weekend and when i do usually eat fast food and drink fizzy drinks most of the time.when i get home first thing i do is make myself a good meal cause even after just 2 days of doing that i find my energy levels fall and i start to feel crap.as soon as i start eating proper again i start to feel good and my energy comes back.it doesnt just make your body feel bad.it can really make you feel down.best of luck

It's a proven fact that if you don't keep your brain contsantly chalanged the way it was when you were in school you will start to slow down. So you must find something to chalange your mind.
