I'd pick a blue from the rug for both rooms, which will unify (and cool) the two small-ish rooms. The second square up on the left (of the rug) has what appears to be a possibility - not too dark, bright, or dull and ties in with the placemats (get the feeling you like blue). If you don't want both rooms the same color, change the tone - make the dining room walls a tone or two lighter of the same shade. I'd also leave all the wood unpainted.

If it is a blue green, try:
dusty rose
coral
custard yellow
mint or sage green
sky blue
lavender
If it is a yellow green, try:
peach
golden yellow
lime
kelly
aqua
turquoise
honey [ light caramel ]

I would choose a blue shade.....Benjamin Moore and Pottery Barn have combined efforts and have some great colors - there are several shades of blue that would work with that green and earth tones........also, choose a "flat" paint.....the woodwork in
"linen white" or "navaho"......basically a creamy beige
