I have two pomeranian puppies that are 12 weeks old. I was wondering if it would be okay if I gave them a bath. I dont have any dog shampoo either, so would it be okay if I used pantene? If not then I can just go to a pet store and buy one, but they were rolling around in their pee so their all dirty.

Its funny you mentioned Pantene!
My mother used to give her chihuahua a bath in Pantene and the vet said NO! it is not good for their skin.
Go get some cheap dog shampoo from Wal Mart.

Yes you can give them a bath. Pantene is probably a bad idea. You should get some puppy shampoo. Just curious but why were they rolling in pee?

I'm not sure about Pantene. I heard, though, from a friend who has dogs that if you run out of dog shampoo, you can use baby shampoo.
When you bathe them, be sure to use warm water, so it's comfortable to your touch, and after bathing, make sure they get dried right away. Towels, hair dryer- otherwise they'll get cold fast, and that won't be good.
If you can't get out to a store right away, rub them down with warm water and a cloth.

Never give your puppies a bath with human shampoo except for Baby Shampoo...really you should go purchase dog shampoo, which is best for their skin and fur.

Try to use a dog shampoo, as human shampoos tend to be drying due to different skin PH. One bath won't hurt if you need to freshen them up...just use a few drops of shampoo and rinse well.

You should be able to use regular shampoo, but I'd buy some dog shampoo asap.
