I just opened garage band on mac. I added a song from itunes and recorded along with it. The problem is, you cant hear me, you only here the other singer. IS there ANY way to take the voice out of the song i downloaded. extract it so that its just the music?? please help. thanks so much in advance =]]

Not unless you have the original Digital Master tapes! You can however, reduce the vocals by doing a mix down through a 1/3 octave equalizer or something similar. Most vocals are in the 80 Hz to 1100 Hz range.

Sorry I can't help you with that one since I can't carry a tune in a bucket. Everytime I start singing people all want to know if i have the gas monery to sing far away, like over in the next Parish so they do not have to listen to me.. But I like Ian said you can try washing it several times each time attenuating the vocal range but you will loose some audio doing it that way.
There is software the recording studios use but it is expensive since designed mainly for professional recording studios.
