Are you a graduate of a Georgia high school? Georgia has a fund that all Georgia residents are eligible for called the HOPE (you can go to http://gacollege411.org to see if you meet the eligibility for a HOPE, or contact your school financial aid officer).

You would also need to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid (www.fafsa.ed.gov)) to have your EFC (Expected Family Contribution) determined. In any event, if you know what school you want to attend, or if you have already been accepted, then you will really want to talk to a school financial aid officer. In addition, many schools have the different scholarships and grants they offer on their websites.

Good luck!

There are NO federal grants specifcally designed for single parents. A school in your state will be able to assist you what might be available on a more state or local level.

It most likely was WIA or Workforce Investment Act - see the site below.
