i am a pretty girl but for some reason after a first date the guys i am into dont call me back even though they said they would call..and the ones i am definitely not into like the ugly ones or the ones i dont like do call me and annoy me.why do guys do that?why do they say they will call and then dont?..even though they seemed so interested in me on our date..

OK, first, I am not an ugly guy...
You are learning a lot about guys, how they think, and their expectations.
My humble opinion is that the guys you are "into" are also the guys that want one thing and they want it on the first date. If they don't get it, they won't call, they just move on to someone who WILL "give it up".
The flip side is that if you do "give it up", you will be a locker room joke, a Friday night story, or a "booty call" when they want some more.
The good news is that while your taste in guys needs some work, you are obviously not easy prey or sending signals that they can have their way with you...congratulations!
The "ugly" guys, as you call them, are also probably the nice guys and they see characteristics in you that they like and are desirable. They want a relationship not a one night stand.
My advice...you need to achieve some balance in the kind of guy you want to be with vs. the guy you want to be seen with.
Here's a news flash...the world is full of *** holes and many of them are male. Look for guys of high character and someone that is truly interested in you, beyond your T & A. You might be suprised how attracted you will become to someone like that.

Oh, to be young and single and to have such a problem! I remember those high school days when such things occured. If a girl is polite and a bit friendly, the guys you don't want will think you are giving them a come-on. If you are rude, they will say...(You know).
This happens with boys; the girls they like will shun them; the ones they don't like will run after them.
I guess opposites do attract?
Be patient; keep trying. Don't come on strong, but show a definite interest. Nowadays, gals don't have to wait for the guy to call; she can call him. Pay attention to all the cues, to see what you are missing. Don't forget that, just because you think you want to date a guy doesn't mean he is a good catch; he may be looking for an easy girl (that happens more often with good looking guys.
Try to find someone with your interests, such as in Spanish clubs, arts, whatever you are interested in.

Well, this may come to you as a shock, but I think that those that don't call you back are the ones that thought they might cop a feel or even got lucky. Most guys these days have no respect for women, all the want is a free piece so they can make their mark and move on to the next target. If you didn't put out or didn't let him mess around, he doesn't want to waste his time.
The ugly ones (and the geeks) are not looking for this, at least not primarily, they already know that they are disadvantaged and look more into a meaningful relationship.
Believe me, the guys that seemed so interested, were only interested in one thing, for you to put out. Then they would call you again for a little while until the next target comes around.
Don't give in, it is not worth it.

2. you may be coming off as high maintenance
3. when you put ugly guys in the 'friend zone', they tend to think they have a chance, and keep bugging you.
those are just some general observations. who knows, maybe you have a high pitch voice, or a wart on your nose, or a tatoo of your soul mate in high school. who knows...
