I usually make myself turkey and cheese sandwhiches and then put them in the microwave but after only 10 seconds the turkey starts making mini-explosions. why is that?

Fat heats much faster in a microwave than water or protein. The popping you hear are fat cells exploding.

Not a problem. Turkey is low-fat, anyway, and the exploding cells make the meat taste moister.

Moisture trapped in the flesh expands to steam and blows out. It happens with most intact meats, but turkey is one of the few that we microwave commonly. Ground meat usually does not.

it's probably because turkey is a heavy and dry meat, and is prone to exploding in a microwave because of the strong rays that interfere with its dryness

Any little pockets of water are being turned to steam, which expands very rapidly.

it's the fat in the turkey, when it heats up it pops like butter does.
