some of those shells are really heavy, depending on which parts of the crab you get. Go on the conservative side and get 2.5 lbs. Remember, the meat isn't that dense, so it won't weight that much. good luck.

there is no way to get an aproximate weight. you can buy just the crab meat already picked.

Depending on how many joints and claws... If you can get big legs, no claws, probalby about 1½ lbs.
