I just bought a 5.1 system consisting of a Denon amp and Audipro speakers. and sub-woofer.
Initially, the voice sounds louder to left. And when I play a CD in stereo, and DVD in stereo or Pro-LII mode, they also sounds louder to the left.
My vendor has calibrated and recalibrated the system. Additionally he has carried out repositioning and toeing-in of the front speakers, and fixed isolators to the centre speaker.

The sound has improved and shifted more towards the centre. But it's still a little bit off to the left.

What else can I do to further improve it and make centralize the sound?

Tks for your suggestions.

To Robert:
I've not done as you suggested yet as I'm trying to figure out where to adjust the levels. The Denon 1906 control menu is a quite daunting. Meanwhile, I've been moving the FR speaker a foot to the right. Was able to get only a slight improvement.

To Thinkestein:
I've spoken to the vendor. They are still checking and considering my problem.

I'll keep you all updated.

Again, much tks.

Hi there.Have you adjusted the two main left and right front speakers by using the balance control on the Receiver to increase or decrease one of the channels,.because some of the center information is in the left/right speakers. Try this : Turn the sound of the center speaker completely off. Put on a CD in stereo. Sit in the centre between the two front stereo speakers. Adjust the sound so the center information is exactly in the center.Switch on the center speaker .If the sound is not quite in the center adjust the volume for the center speaker only and it should line up.Sometimes a center speaker actually sounds worse because all dialogue is not in the center of the screen.I have a Projector and screen with only two front speakers and i can follow the dialogue as it moves across the screen and it has a much clearer center image than using an actual center speaker.Actually, the more speakers you have ,the worse the sound quality. If you would like to know why you can let me know .Anyway see how you go.

Try calibrating the sound yourself.
You might boost the signal to the center speaker and/or reducing the signal to the left and right speakers.

If you just bought this I would insist on getting a new receiver. It sounds like something is wrong with the steering with the one you have now. Be polite but very insistent. You have patiently given them the opportunity to rectify the problem with lesser measures. It is time to exchange the receiver!

This is not intended as a smart a** answer. But have you had your hearing checked lately? I thought that my system was unbalanced to the left and discovered that I have actually less hearing ability in my right ear than my left. Just a thought.
