John the beloved. The closest friend the man Christ Jesus had on this earth. He was at his trial. He was at the cross. He was instructed to care for the Mother of Jesus. It seems John had greater insight to who Jesus really was than the rest of the Gospel writers, or at least it seems he expresses his knowledge in an easily understood way. He was the one writer that God gave vision of the future to in a revelation like no other. A close examination of the writings of John will leave us with a greater understanding of who Jesus really is!
In the writings of John we find a incredible link between the Father and the Son that is not expressed so greatly by the other writers. We will examine this link and see if we can come to the same understanding John longed to express.
The words of Jesus revealed by John show us who Jesus really is! Jesus tells us "the Son can do nothing of himself." John 5:19. This is repeated in verse 30. "I can of mine own self do nothing." This thought is expressed in John 5:17, 19, 30, 36; 8:28, 29; 9:4; 10:25, 32, 37; 14:10,11, 31; 17:4; Fourteen times John records this fact, the works Jesus did were not his own, but they were the Fathers!
Jesus tells us the words he spoke were not his own. In John 12:49, Jesus says, "For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak." This thought is expressed in John 7:16-18; 8:28, 29, 38; 12:49, 50; 14:24,31; 16:15; Nine times John records Jesus revealing the words he spoke were the Father’s!
Jesus goes on to reveal the Father was in the Son and the Son in the Father. This is stated in John 8:16; 10:38; 14:10, 11, 20; 16:32; 17:21; Seven verses record such a claim.
Jesus said, if you knew the Son you would know the Father also. This is recorded in John 8:19; 14:7, 9; 16:3; 17:3; Five verses record this information.
Jesus said to see the Son was to see the Father also. John 12:45; 14:7, 9; Three verses record this fact.
Jesus declares he came in the Father’s name. John 5:43; 12:28; 17:6, 25-26;
John records Jesus claimed to have been sent by the Father. John 8:42; 10:36; 13:16; 17:8, 18, 21; 20:21; Seven times.
Jesus declares the Father gives him all things. John 5:26; 16:15; 17:7, 11;
It should be getting easier to understand just who Jesus really is. The most remarkable statement Jesus makes in the book of John, really shouldn’t be surprising. In light of all the truths Jesus has declared about himself to this point. But in John 12:44, Jesus says, "He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me."
Is it any wonder? The works were the Father’s. The words were the Father’s. Know the Son know the Father. See the Son see the Father. John 13:20, receive the Son, receive the Father. The name was the Father’s. 1 John 2:22, 23, indicates that in denying the Son you deny the Father also, and in acknowledging the Son you have acknowledged the Father also. 1 John 3:1, indicates that the world did not know the Father. The only opportunity was through Jesus Christ. 1 John 5:1, indicates in loving the Son you love the Father also. Jesus is the "Everlasting Father" prophesied by Isaiah 9:6. God manifest in flesh. 1 Tim. 3:16. "For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead." Col. 2:9. Jesus is "God with us," Emmanuel. "And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life." 1 John 5:20. "He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son." 2 John 9.
Something incredible to notice while reading through the above verses, is the Holy Ghost is not mentioned once! Also, if there is a trinity of persons in the Godhead, co-equal, co-eternal, then why didn’t Jesus come as "God the Son?" It is obvious from the writings of John he was the manifestation of the Father. This is also consistent with the Bible as a whole. If the above mentioned verses do not expose the error of three co-equal beings, John tells us "the Father is greater than all." John 10:29, 13:16; 14:28; So much for co-equal!
The primary reason the Holy Ghost is seemingly overlooked is this: 1. God is a Spirit, John 4:24. 2. God is Holy, 1 Peter 1:15-16. 3. There is only ONE Spirit, Eph. 4:4. So to try and make the Holy Spirit a separate person is not possible. It is simply another way God has manifest himself to us.
Overview of God
God is a Spirit, John 4:24
God’s Spirit is everywhere, Ps. 139:7-12
God is invisible, Col. 1:15
A Spirit does not have flesh and bones, Luke 24:39
There is only ONE Spirit, Eph. 4:4
God is not a man, Num. 23:19
No man hath seen God, John 1:18; 5:37; 1 John 4:12
God does not change, Mal. 3:6
There is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Tim. 2:5
There is ONE God, Deu. 6:4, Mark 12:29
"And this is life eternal, that they may know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." John 17:3 If you know Jesus, you know the ONLY TRUE GOD! "I and my Father are one." John 10:30

In (St. John 5:37) he said, "And the father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me, ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape." Well, if no man has heard or seen the father at any time, who did Moses and the elders of Israel see in (Exodus 24:9-11), where the bible says twice that they saw God? They saw Jesus, the God of the Old Testament, the God of Israel. Paul clarifies this in (1 Corinthians 10:1-4) when he has let us know that Jesus was the "Rock" that led the Israelites through the Red Sea. This is the same rock that Isaiah said many would be offended by. Now, what was Jesus doing at the Red Sea if his beginning was with Mary? Here is the explanation; "And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us." (St. John 1:14) But prior to that he was God with God. That's why (St. John 1-3) says, "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made." Jesus is called the Word because he is the spokesman for the Father. Now we can under stand why Jesus said no man has heard the Father's voice at anytime.
When Isaiah prophesied concerning the birth of Jesus by a virgin he called his name Immanuel, (IsaIah 8:14) When Matthew testified old the birth of Jesus (Matthew 1:18-23) he let us know that his birth was fulfilling the words of the prophet. He also gave us the meaning of Immanuel. GOD WITH US

it is important to understand that the Almighty has no beginning.
His only-begotten son was begotten as the first creation.
together they created the universe (which includes mankind)
the son worships the Father; John 20:17; Revelation 3:12
the Father is "the only true God"; John 17:3
the son has been given authority over true Christians
true Christians know that the son serves the Father and that the son has been, is, and always will be in subjection to the one true Almighty Father; 1 Corinthians 15:24-28
true Christians know that the word 'god' in the Bible does not always mean THE ALMIGHTY FATHER, but it refers to powerful persons like satan, human Jews, false gods and Jesus; 2 Corinthians 4:4; John 10:34; Psalm 82:6; 1 Corinthians 8:5; John 1:1
of course Jesus is not the same God who created him. Revelation 3:14; Colossians 1:15;
Jesus is not the same God whom he worships. John 20:17; Revelation 3:12
Jesus is not the same God whom he will hand the Kingdom over to after death has been eliminated. 1 Corinthians 15:24-28
if the Father and the son are equal, then how can the Father be greater than the son?
but Yhshua/Jesus *is* the perfect reflection of every quality of the one true Almighty YHWH/Jehovah. He did exactly as his Father commanded him to and learned obedience to his Father through his death when his Father sent him to sacrifice his human life. Ha satan/the devil was also created by YHWH/Jehovah but ha satan was not obedient, Yhshua/Jesus was/is obedient to YHWH/Jehovah.
ask yourself these questions:
1. If Jesus was God then why is he called the “firstborn” of all creations? Please read Colossians 1:15 and Revelation 3:14.
2. If Jesus was God then why did he say that he did not come of his “own initiative” but was sent? Who sent him? John 8:42 and 1 John 4:9
3. If Jesus was God then why did Jesus not know the “day and the hour” of the Great Tribulation but God did? Matthew 24:36
4. Who did Jesus speak to in prayer if he was God? Did he speak to himself when he asked help and strength from God?
5. Jesus “appeared before the person of God for us”? How did he do that if he was God? Hebrews 9:24
6. Why did Jesus say “the Father is Greater than I am”? John 14:28, Philippians 2:5,6
7. Who spoke to Jesus at the time of his baptism saying “this is my son”? Matthew 3:17
8. How could he be exalted to a superior position if he was God? Can you exalt the one who is already the highest? Philippians 2:9,10 (Note: It says “God exalted him to a higher position”. In proper English the word higher and highest is different. This means that God is the highest; Jesus is in the higher position. God has the authority to exalt him to a higher position. That means Jehovah, the father is higher than Jesus)
9. If Jesus was God how can Jesus be the “mediator between God and man?” Jesus is called the MEDIATOR in 1 Timothy 2:5
10. If Jesus was God why did the Apostle Paul say “the head of the Christ is God?” 1 Corinthians 11:30
11. Is Jesus was God then why, after the 1,000 year reign of peace does Jesus “hand over the Kingdom to his God” and “subject himself to God”? 1 Corinthians 15: 24-28
12. If Jesus was God then who does he refer to as “my God and your God”? John 20:17; Revelation 3:12
13. How does he sit at God’s right hand? Psalms 110:1, Hebrew 10:12, 13
14. If Jesus was God why does John say “no man has seen God at any time?” John saw Jesus. John 1:18
15. Why did not people die when they saw Jesus? Exodus 20:18-19, Exodus 30:20
16. How were Jesus dead and God alive at the same time if they are the same? Acts 2:24
17. Why did Jesus need someone to save him? Hebrews 5:7
18. If Jesus was God why is he referred to prophetically at Proverbs 8:22-31?
19. If Jesus was God then when Jesus said “all authority has been GIVEN to me in heaven and on earth”? Who gave that authority? Matthew 28:18, Daniel 7:13,14
20. Why did Jesus have godly fear if he was the God? Hebrews 5:7
21. Whom did he serve if he was God? Acts 3:13; Hebrews 5:8-9
22. Why would an angel be able to strengthen him or the angels minister to him? Does God need to be strengthened and ministered by angels? Luke 22:43, Matthew 4:11
23. Why would Satan try to tempt him if he KNEW that he was GOD? Matthew 4:1-11
24. Jesus when sent to earth was made to “be Lower” than the angels Hebrews 2:7 says. How could any part of a God Head ever be lower than the angels?
25. Then if Jesus was the same as God, who was he being tempted to rebel against? Matthew 4:1
26. Near the end of his earthly life, Jesus cried out “My God, my God why have you forsaken me?” Matthew 27:46 Can God desert or forsake himself?
27. Hebrews 5:8 says that Jesus learned obedience! To whom would he obey if he was God? And does God need to LEARN anything?
28. Jesus said that he and the Father are one. Jesus said that his true followers are one with him and his Father (John 17:11 & 21) Does that mean I am God? The Bible says that a husband and wife become one when they are married. Are they the same person or two people?
so ask yourself, is there a danger of dishonoring “the only true God” by trying to make Jesus co-equal to his Father Jehovah when in actuality “the Father is greater” and deserves all the recognition and submission Jesus showed Him?
agape!

For a start its verse 16 not 17..He sent his son, which is a part of him... There are 3 parts to God, God the father, God the son, And God the holy spirit.. If you read the bible properly, not just picking out random verses to try and diss Christianity, you would understand!

In John 1:1 it says the word was God. Then later in that chapter it says the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. So Jesus was God in the flesh. God made a part of Himself come down to us.

This might help you understand:
"...CHRIST JESUS...who being in the FORM OF GOD, thought it not robbery to be EQUAL WITH GOD: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
