I wanna make sure that I get a good cardio workout in, so should I switch off from running and bike riding or is one better than the other? What about the other machines for cardio?

well since it is summer try pushing it outside. I like to go tred water for like 30 minutes this is really tough but do it somewhere safe becuase if you cramp you can drown. Other then that find a hill and do a hill workout sprint to the top then jog down. Do this 3 set of 10 depending on the hill size. you will feel it. do a tringing course. Run for a couple miles and every min stop and do 30 seconds of an excerise liek sit ups, push ups, burpies, high knees, pull ups, what ever.

I have tried biking and all cardio machines at the gym but I still get the best overall cardio workout from running (outside or on a treadmill). Its the only thing that really gets my heart going.

Your maximum heartbeat is 220 beats/minute minus your age. A good cardio workout is anything that gets your heartrate up to 60-80% of that for at least 20 minutes. For example, if you are 20, your maximum would be 200, and you want to shoot for 120-160 beats/minute.

Swimming, without a doubt. It is gets the heart going better and it builds all of your muscle groups.

Walking is great because you are moving all parts of the body and the blood can circulate.

Anything you enjoy that gets your heart pumping and gets your breathing a little bit heavy.
