if you want to start feeding your dog canned food, you have to start out slowly. start by giving her a little bit at a time to get her body a chance to adjust to the new food. Then, over time, you can start ot increase the amount of canned food that you give to your dog. This should prevent diarrhea. You should get a second opinion from your vet though.
You should switch your puppy to dog food when it is one and a half to two years old.

A puppy needs her puppy food for a good year. I would NOT give her canned food. It will be too much of a shock for her body, and it's really not good for her.
Puppies and dogs are not like us, in that they don't get bored with their food. I have a Rat Terrier and started him out on IAMS puppy food, then after a year switched him to dog food of IAMS and that's all he's eaten for 3 years now!!! It also helps to follow the feeding guidelines on the back of the package. Don't be tempted to think it looks like too little of an amount, so you give her more. That just leads to overweight dogs and other health problems. I give my Rat 1/2 his food in the am and the other 1/2 in the pm so he gets to eat twice, yet it still the recommended amount.
Please also don't give in to those little black eyes that want a taste of your food!!!! That's also bad for her!! It will also cause her to start begging. If you start from the begining with no people food, she should be able to sit on your lap while you eat your food, and not bother to even give it a sniff!!!! Good luck!

If she is used to canned puppy food she will be ok, any change in a dogs diet should be very gradual,A good quality can food mixed with dry or the dry left separate is ok.Make sure she has a chew bone for healthy teeth.Keep her on 4 meals a day until at least 3 months then 3 meals until 6 months. then 1 meal a day at 1 year.Don't forget her daily dose of calcuim( most important in growing puppies)

The raw food diet is good however it's more money and effort then a lot of people want or have time to put into their dogs diet. And while 7 weeks is still young it's not unheard of nor is it necessarily dangerous for the puppy. Though I would be careful with her for the next week as it's a huge developmental period in a puppy's life. I recommend a mixture of hard and soft food. The hard food is good for her teeth and the soft food provides extra moisture to aid her digestion. I fed my dogs one of their two daily meals with hard food and one with soft.

first it may give her diarhea as well as giving canned food causes more dental problems as well as other health problem. Dry food is the best.
She should be kept on puppy food until 1 year old and then gradually switched to an adult food.

Please leave your puppy on hard puppy food. The canned causes tooth decay. I won't switch to adult dog food til she is about 12 months old.

my dog seemed to think that wet food was much more distasteful.
rather than fake artificial dog food (wet or dry) give your dog raw foods. i hae a bichon and he seems to like it a lot.read and research about it before, so that you can get your own opinions about it. the links provided have a myths page where they answer things like toy breeds shouldn't have raw meat or something. it is very information. check it out before you switch.
