thinking you might want to rethink having kids on a lawn first of all, and never good to date a relative of someone you had/or having kids with, especially one that would be the grandparent, what will the kids call him? grandpa/dad? seriously so not right, but do hope something works out for you

No that is not a good idea to get even. let them know that you are so much more mature and that you thank them for making that decision, because now you can see that they weren't for you. I'm telling you it will hurt them dramatically. Don't be childish.
