Why are there always movies and researches (and other stuff) contradicting only the Catholic religion?

I'm just curious because I always see movies and other stuff contradicting Catholics, but I never see anything about other religions. Why is it people only seem to be interested in finding the 'truth' about the Catholic religion?

If you still remember your World History, Catholicism was engaged into controversies and cover-ups as well as corruption. I would say it's one of the meatiest in religious history. The past popes were engaged into different kinds of scandals and grafts. It was such a powerful institution that led to several revolts and skirmishes of latter unbelievers coz of wrong doings by the Church hierarchy then. Of course they were still human to err.

Need I say they are still the most powerful religious group of today? And if you've got the power many would like to see it topple down.

Religion is good business and people want to earn business out of Catholicism be it on screenplays or research. No matter what it would cost.

Would they rather make a film about Satan's biography? Not much written record of evidence. No good business for film makers. =)

You need to take the blinders off... Other religions have been targets..

Look up some of these movies..

The God Makers(Mormon portrayed poorly)

The Passion of Christ (Jews portrayed poorly)

The Duchess and The Dirtwater Fox (Mormons are poked fun at and portrayed badly)

The Wicker Man (Pagans are protrayed very poorly)

At one time or another all religions come under fire.. The Catholic church often makes movies where they are underfire more visible by protesting them on a large scale in the media..

It would be more accurate to say `Christianity`as represented by Catholicism. When seeking research material it is usual to get as close to the original as possible, the Catholic church of course fills that position. Not much point researching the origins of the Moonies , Mormons, or JW`s, as they are far too modern and make no claims to supremacy.

Its not Only the Catholic religion, and most of the time its not even the religion itself... but the way people forget its true morals and values and what its original purpose was. It just happens to be churches usually that provide people with a seat of power that is abused for their own reasons.

Not all are, but the main reason is that Catholicism is deep rooted in ritualistic type secrets. The Catholic church is also a very dominating culture. For instance, the Pope in the last day or two just (re)declared that all other churches are not actually real churches.

Have you seen "Jesus Camp" lately? It's not about Catholicism. There have been documentaries on Islam, Mormonism, the Jehovah's Witnesses, various branches of Judaism, and many other groups, as well. And don't forget about the films that portray Catholicism in a positive light.

Because you guys are the big dog on the block. Also, you have a long, rich history of documenting your rules, rituals and beliefs. If any other Xtian denomination could say the same, they'd be the target. If not actually a compliment, certainly you could see this as a validation.

Because the Catholic Church is the real true Church and the Evil One MUST discredit it if he wants to take over completely but, he won't. Jesus has said "and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against her"

You guys are *lucky* (well, skilled) -- you have the ToE, the Big Bang, a 4.55 BYO Earth and more science you agree with. There are tons of science movies in agreement with The Vatican. ... Please CITE an example or 5 for context.

Because Catholic arrogantly and ignorantly claim to have a truth and that truth is based on a lie, promoted by liars.
