The fish is an ancient symbol of Christ . Fish is Ichthus which can stand for the first letters of Jesus ChristSon of God Savior. X,the Greek letter Chi(CH) stands for Christ as in XP CHi Rho

it's a fish. It was a secret christian code. When it wasn't cool to be a Christian, when the Romans hunted and killed and placed them in the arenas, Christians had to have a secret code...one would draw the top arch and the other would draw the second Archer. only Christians knew this.
