Actually this is the type of attitude from doctors, that makes nurses callous and cold. We work very hard for the degrees we earn. There are some out there that don't take there job seriously, just like there are some doctors out there that are lost and have no clue what there doing. Most Doctors don't realize that Nurses are your first defense in preventing law suits, going behind every piece of paper you sign, every order you write, making sure there correct or filled out properly. Clearing up orders or checking on lab values, making sure that not only do we not make mistakes but that we catch and fix any you do so you don't take us down with you. I love the doctors I work with, we make a good team something it seems you need to work on. Sorry but it sounds like your the one being a know it all, at this point.

is that what you really think of the people who tend to your patients??? WE are there 24 hous a day tending to the patient and when something goes wrong, who calls you to make you aware??? The nurse, that's right bec we're there with them not you! You docs come in, read the charts to act like you're familiar with the patient then go in and probably have a stop watch set for 15 seconds, then you tell them something based off what WE nurses have written and then you disappear. How dare you belittle the most important staff at the hospital. If we were not there in the hospital many many patients wouldn't make it, oh but I guess you think that the nurse should just call you and the patient would wait for you to get their and save their life. We have to learn the ins and outs of diseases and side effects for meds, etc. ummmmmm isn't that what you do??? Don't start a fire unless you're ready to put it out doc. Get A Clue. I think you should apologize to all nursing staff for your ignorance... I saw a question that you answered about someone maybe wanting to become a nurse. You suggested to become a doc so she wouldn't have to deal with being around sick people all the time! Just like I stated before, you docs come in and it's a race for you to get out of there. I'd love to see docs runs hospitals and nursing homes without the nursing staff. Just one day, hell, one hour. I know why you're so anal about nurses, you're probably single and unattractive and have been rejected by nurses!!! Otherwise a man with your education wouldn't spend his time on the computer insulting anyone in the medical profession especially nurses. Not all nurses do their job effeciently but neither do all docs.

Nurses do not get quick income. They work very hard for the little money they make. I've had the opportunity to watch doctors come in and see a patient for a minute or two and then charge several hundred dollars for that. However, a nurse works 8 to 12 hour shifts for very little pay.

Having the RN after your call is in basic terms a count number of passing the NCLEX Nursing boards attempt. each and every guy or woman with an associate's degree or a bachelor's can take the boards. a great form of persons get their friends and then artwork someplace which will reimburse them to get their bachelors. it quite is a sturdy attitude. besides the indisputable fact that, some associate's tiers are 3 years besides, so some think of its just to boot to circulate forward and get the 4 year degree out of ways appropriate away. the craze in hospitals at present is to employ greater nurses with bachelors and many times you will possibly be able to desire to have it to get a administration place. yet another thought: in case you artwork as a nurse's aide throughout college, , they are going to often reimburse your degree to boot. additionally being an aide in a medical institution is a sturdy way of seeing what the ambience is like. Being a nurse and nursing college is a protracted, problematical highway, and often disillusioning so be arranged to are conscious of it quite is particularly what you opt for. It might desire to be a calling whether that's well worth it. Many advantages on your adventure.

I have been hospitalized many, many times and have had 7 major surgeries. I have been in several hospitals. For the most part, the nurses who provided primary care were skilled and compassionate professionals. Some had better techniques than others, and some had a better bed side manner, but all took their job and responsibilities seriously. Both RN's and NA's did their best to provide me with both physical and emotional comfort. For the most part, I found them to be over worked and under appreciated. I admire nurses, I couldn't do their job.

speaking as a pt. w/2 serious illnesses, the RNs take better care of the pt. because they the ones who see them 24/7, call the MD when the pt. has a serious problem (IT WAS AN RN WHO SAVED MY LIFE WHEN I BLED OUT -SHE CLD MY PRIMARY & I WAS TRANSFUSED 2 UNITS OF BLOOD--IF SHE HADN'T I'D BE DEAD) while the MD comes in for what maybe 5 minutes or less and then they CHARGE US $100 just to tell us yes, you are going home or no, you have to stay for more tests we don't know what's wrong with you.
You have an attitude. I wouldn't hire you as my doctor that's for sure. if you treat nurses like dirt, who's to say that you don't do the same to patients.
It's the PATIENTS who pay for your fancy home, exotic trips, 2 cars, kids' education.......DON'T YOU FORGET IT. WE CAN HIRE AND FIRE YOU.

I think you need an attitude adjustment in a big way. It appears to me that your issue is with yourself and has nothing to do with nurses. Why else would you feel the need to belittle and demean them? No, I'm not a nurse, but one of my closest friends is a family nurse practitioner. No one handed her anything from a cracker jack box.

Cram it clowney! I've seen two nurses through college, it is not an easy curriculum. Perhaps you should show them a little more respect and appreciation!
