Does it hurt only when you put it in your ear? If so, you have probably damaged yourself one time that you q tipped. If you don't stop you may develop a hearing loss. Your ear is self cleaning, the wax naturally moves things out of your ear. If you have no wax in your ear, things have an easier time getting into you ear and causing damage. If you have too much wax, then go to the doctor to have it removed, or follow his/her instructions on how to remove it safely. Stop putting things in your ear!

Sounds like you have been cleaning too far inside your ear. You are really only supposed to clean the outside of the ear and never insert the Q tip into the ear drum. If the pain persists for weeks or you have trouble with your hearing you will have to see the doctor.

How far are you sticking the q tips in your ear? It is possible to damage your ear drum with a q tip... However, it will heal over time. I would see a doctor and make sure you did not damage a part of the inner ear.

If you have had consistent severe pain you should see a doctor. Go to your regular doc who may handle it or may send you to an ear doctor. In any case, you need to get it looked at because if it is a serious problem and goes untreated there is always the chance your hearing could be impaired. Maybe it is simple like somehow you scratched in there and it just needs time to heal. Maybe you pushed the q tip in too far and stretched something that should stretch too much. Just go see your doctor. Good luck!

I agree that Qtips should not be used, but I do not always follow the rules.
My son has one ear that is much more sensitive than the other. I have had it checked numerous times and nothing is wrong. It is just one of those things. My mother has the same sensitivity problem.
There does not always have to be something wrong to have pain or sensitivity but you should rule out an ear infection or swimmers ear by seeing your doctor.

You may have damaged the ear membrane. Stop using q tips. See a doctor right away because if there is a tear then you will need treatment right away.
