1 bottle red wine, such as a Rioja from Spain, or a pinot noir, 1/2 cup brandy, 1 cup apple juice, 1/2 cup orange juice, plus 1/2 of a cubed apple, 1/2 of a sliced orange, lemon and lime, and a cinnamon stick and 5 whole cloves. If this isn't sweet enough for you, you can add some honey.
By the way - the recipe above me is NOT real sangria...thats fruit punch!

The best sangria i have had always had peaches in it the kind in a can with syrup. You also want to use a wine with high fruit overtones and brandy. Port wine is also something great to add along with lots of fresh fruit sections (making sure not to get any citrus pith in the macerating jar(pith is the white part of the rind the zest is o.k.)the pith will make your sangria bitter). There are no real measurements because everybody has different likes and dislikes make it as sweet or strong as you like. (by adding more or less fruit). You also want to let this sit for about 2 days before using. Also top with a little soda water right before serving.

it pretty easy to make it! * 1 Bottle of red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Rioja, Zinfandel, Shiraz)
* 1 Lemon cut into wedges
* 1 Orange cut into wedges
* 1 Lime cut into wedges
* 2 Tbsp sugar
* Splash of orange juice
* 2 Shots of gin
* 1 Cup of sliced strawberries or raspberries (may use thawed or frozen)
* 1 Small can of diced pineapples (with juice)
* 4 Cups ginger ale
PREPARATION:
Pour wine in the pitcher and squeeze the juice wedges from the lemon, orange and lime into the wine. Toss in the fruit wedges (leaving out seeds if possible) and pineapple then add sugar, orange juice and gin.Chill overnight. Add ginger ale, berries and ice just before serving. If you'd like to serve right away, use chilled red wine and serve over lots of ice. However, remember that the best Sangrias are chilled around 24 hours in the frig. - allowing the flavors to really marinate into each other. remenber it very tasty!

Find someone's burgundy like Gallo, Carlo Rossi, etc in a 4 or 5 liter package or box. Empty contents into a big puch bowl, add a cup of sugar, stir, check sweetness level, add more to taste, garnish with orange and lime slices, stir again, serve in glasses with your ice cubes.

INGREDIENTS
1 (750 milliliter) bottle red wine
1 liter lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
1 orange
2 limes
1 cup fresh pineapple - peeled, cored and chopped
1 cup cherries, pitted and halved
DIRECTIONS
Slice the fruit up into bite-size pieces and place in a punch bowl. (You may want to slightly crush the citrus fruits to get a little more of the flavor into the punch.)
Pour in the bottle of red wine, and stir in carbonated soda (Pour it in slowly, and taste as you go along - you don't want to over-dilute the wine!)
