Go ahead and use it, Expiration dates are not even close to absolute . Refrigerated doughs don't come under the heading of potentially hazardous foods.Bring it up to room temp before using it . What you are specifically looking for is whether or not your yeast is still active .If it is then it will obviously rise.
As far as the remark about a sour smell goes, yeast doughs should smell sour. It's the result of fermentaion creating alcohol. Enjoy your pizza

Is it worth the possible health risk? I'd say spend a couple bucks on some fresh stuff!
Also, if it's that kind in a tube that contains partially hydrogenated oil, don't use it anyway. It has trans fats and no one should be eating that stuff.

I used pizza dough after the expiration date once or twice..but
first open it and if it seems real soft and sticky like I would throw it away. it should be firm but manageable.

It should be fine, as long as it's been properly refrigerated during the entire time that you;ve had it......Only way to tell is to open it and find out......The "sniff" test if always a good way to find out........If it smells funny, toss it.....but less than a month and it's not dairy, you should be good to go!!! Enjoy!

Those dates are made for the stores. If it's been kept in the frig and not opened, it'll stay good for a few more months

Most likely, it is fine, the manufacturer builds in quite a bit of extra time to be safe for the sell by date. Open the can, if it is not bubbly or smells off, you should be fine- baking it will kill anything that may harm you, as long as it tastes good!
