The commandments say "keep the sabbath day holy", right?

It would be nice to have a good answer for my dad since I am a new Muslim. I saw the commandments in the Quran, so why aren't they followed anymore? Does the Quran say it is no longer necessary?

Because Sabbath (Saturday) is a Jewish tradition.
Christ was a Jew and upheld the Saturday Sabbath. His followers observed both Saturday and Sunday as Sabbath days.
The Council of Judea officially voted to make Sunday the Christian Sabbath and punish anyone who continued to follow the Saturday (Jewish) Sabbath.
Since Saturday and Sunday were already taken, Muslims claimed an error in the days of the week and made Friday Sabbath day.

The commandments are not part of Islam. While we do agree with most of it, our sabbath equivalent is Friday. It's a day most Muslim countries have off, so the people can pray and rest.

Muslims claim Allah is the God of Abraham but do not truly believe in the God of Abraham.their god is so different they have to call the word of God corrupt because Allah says he is this God but disagrees with him.The Sabbath is salvation. God's kingdom and even the Millennium If your going to teach Christ is not God you have to omit a lot of truth.
