www.missingmoney.com shows money, not tax refunds, that is turned over to the state because its owner has not claimed it. The site lists all states and directs you to your home state to claim anything due to you - there is no charge. The tax refunds would be found on your state's tax department web site.

If you need to know about your 2006 California state tax refund, you can check the status online at the first link below or by calling the Franchise Tax Board at 800-852-5711 from 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

You can also call the FTB (same phone number) if you want to find out if you are entitled to any prior year unclaimed refunds for your California state income taxes.

just google unclaimed property. i think this is what you mean. i've done it.
