A recipe I'm using calls for "2 tomatillos, husked, walked and halved". How do you "walk" a tomatillo?

LOL I assume they meant "wash" but if you want to take them for a walk... Roll them under your hand across the counter =)

It's definately a typographical error on the publisher's part, as you don't walk a tomatillo, but you have to husk and wash the sticky film off them before using them.....Tomatillos are usually used to make green salsas, including the sauce for Chile Verde and Enchiladas Verdes (first one is cubed pork simmered in a spicy tomatillo sauce, the second being chicken enchiladas with a tomatillo salas baked along with them, and they're delicious) Tomatillos ARE NOT RELATED TO TOMATOES IN ANY WAY, just FYI......And their flavor is kind of an acquired taste, sort of like cilantro, either you love it or you hate it.......And I love both!!! Enjoy!

I never heard of anything like that! I use tomatillos in pies and in a receipe for pork but I just take off the paper wrapper, wash them and cut them up for the receipe.
maybe its a misprint?

it's probably supposed to be wash. tomatillos can be pretty sticky and dirty under the husks and need to be washed before you can cook with them.

based upon the sequence you described, I would guess "skin or peel" the tomatillo.

However, I've never heard of the term "walk".

Also, it could be a typo for "Wash" where you husk, WASH and halve...
