NASCAR now just said that Bud probably isn't going to go with Dale to HMS; Mountain Dew is probably going to be his sponser next year. But they've been talking with Evernham, and they're thinking about sponsering Kasey. Any thought?

actually I found some information from www.jayski.com in regards to the information that you heard on Nascar Now...

Budweiser to Evernham? hearing that Budweiser could sponsor one of the Evernham Motorsports teams in 2008, leaving DEI and Dale Earnhardt Jr. it could be the sponsor for Kasey Kahne if Dodge lets him out of their sponsor deal of the #9 and if Bud feels Kahne meets their demographics, or even #19-Elliott Sadler team. Supposedly DEI could still be in play for the Bud sponsor, but looks like Bud will not follow Dale Earnhardt Jr. to Hendrick Motorsports and that Pepsi/Mountain Dew will sponsor Dale Jr. in 2008.(7-10-2007)

Right now it is speculation, however I doubt that Budweiser would want to stay at DEI after the fallout from Dale Jr leaving DEI and besides even though DEI may "rebound" from Dale Jr departing DEI, I hardly think that they will ever have the popularity that they did when Jr was with the team. Truex Jr appears to be an up and comer, however he is not the most popular driver in Nascar at the present time.

The problem that I see with DEI is that the drivers who drive for them will always be racing in the shadow of Dale Earnhardt and there will never be an escaping that for that company. It will always have that stygma and the only way to get out of that shadow is to go to a different company and race.

From what sources did you get this information? I'd like to read it.

OK found it on Jawski's. I like Kasey. Think he'd be a good model for Bud but I can't see them being any better off than they were with Jr. I hate to see Pepsi on the hood or Mountain Dew. If they do the Dew then there could be some cool paint schemes with the light green.

I still hope that Bud is tied to him some way. Maybe Monster drinks which is distributed through Anheiser Busch.

I've only got one thought: Why Kasey?

I can't see him racing for an alcoholic beverage, I really can't.

Edit: I just smacked my head on the desk when I read that they're working out a deal with Kasey. They're working out a deal with Kasey!? Oh come on! I'm 17, and I've seen the effects alcohol has on people, and I'm not for it.

Well, if they do sign with Kasey, I'll only be supporting the driver, not the sponsor anymore.

I would love it if my favorite driver, Kasey, had a cool sponsor like BUD instead of the boring Dodge Dealers. My husband is quite annoyed that his favorite driver will now drive the Mountain Dew car. It's not nearly so cool. I don't think that Jay Z drinks the Dew!

After all the money Budweiser has spent on Dale, it seems odd to go to someone else, especially given how popular Earnhardt is. Could Jr be trying to clean up his image and become more kid friendly? It must bother many parents that have kids that are Dale fans. Of all drivers, why Kasey Kahne?

id rather dodge be kahnes sponser ,but it would be ok with me if bud sponsered kasey i guess the fact dale jr hasnt won in over a year may have something to do with budweiser wanting to go elsewhere ,afterall despite having a tough year kahne won the most races last season and once they get their act together at evernham kasey will definately be a contender and will win more races

We loyal #9 (Kasey) fans will be glad to have Budweiser riding along with our beloved Kasey every week.
The more influex of promo money, the closer to the chase Kasey can get.

I heard something right after Jr. announced he was going to Hendick that him and Bud might split ways. Bud was looking for a younger driver and Jr. was looking to get away from the alcohol sponsor.
