The very fact that you've forgotten what they're fighting for indicates their successes.
Glad to see your testament that it's working!

Why on earth would any moral/ethical person support a war that isc an ILLEGAL war of choice based upon a pack of FILTHY LIES that has resulted in the slaughter of over 400,000 innocent Iraqis and over 3,000 US soldiers.
Like in Germany ,does Patriotism trump ones moral and ethical code .
You should support the troops BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN one supports a war mongering, lying President and his putting US troops in harms way let valone all those Iraqis over a pack of filthy lies.
Supporting the troops now is simple.
Congress excercizes it's CONSTITUTIONAL right and authority NOT to fund the war and then Congress must demand that Bush and the Military devise plans to extricate all the troops SAFELY from Iraq and back home out of harms way.
It is as easy as that because as ALL experts agree ,Iraq is going to have and finish it's Civil War which the lying Bush started by the invasion ,either now or as soon as the troops leave.
Like Vietnam,Iraq was a doomed proposition from the start and the arrogant Bush regime is holding on ONLY BECAUSE OF PRIDE AND BUSH'S CONCERN FOR HIS LEGACY and de facto responsible for any and all US casualties from here on in.

Well the best thing I think is to ask a few people involved there what they think about it.
I just talked to a guy today that just got back from almost a year in Iraq. he is an airforce pilot but was a ssigned to work with the army.
He said militarily its going ok. The difficulties are in the social and political situations as the people funding insurgents have to have their funding taken away or run them out of money because as this man I talked to said, there is always someone who has been convinced they will be rewarded as a martyr who they can give a gun or a bomb. There is a large supply of them.
He said you have to cut their funding so they have to give up or negotiate.

I think it depends on what you as an individual value.
This war is very costly, many people are against it. The reasons as to why our administration continues it is shady, and we (along with other nations) are losing valuable troops daily.
But, I know people who've been over there. They've been in areas where the soldiers gave them electricity and running water. Cleared the area of insurgents. Restored old churches and built schools, trained police forces... etc. The people who have known what it is to grow up oppressed and fearful have literally fell to the ground begging our soldiers not to leave..
The bottom line is that this war is hardly beneficial to us. But it is everything to them. It's just a matter of what you think is more important.

You should always support the troops. It is the government that chooses to send them to fight unpopular wars. The troops are the pawns in their "chess game" they are playing.
If you are against the war, then do not support the government that sent them there, but do not take it out on the troops.

Is no point ?!
Do you not care about terrorism ? No matter who it may effect ?
They met us on this battlefield after the removal of Sadam. Terrorism is wrong no matter who, where or why. Why is it only justifiable in a few small parts of the world ? Our troops are doing good there. We just will not hear it from our main stream media. You must look into it yourself.

I was listening to talk radio earlier today and there are reports of some Iraqis killing and cooking the children of other Iraqi citizens and then forcing the parents of the child to eat their own children. What countries are powerful enough to stop such horrific things? You decide?
As for the guy that says no one chooses to go to war....My father (22 years in the military-retired) called right after the decision was made to go into Iraq wanting to sign up and go. After exhausting all avenues to go to Iraq they turned him down because of his age. He would go right now if they let him. I would tend to take advice from someone who has spend 22 years in the military, has 3 purple hearts and has spent 3 years in a war zone them people on Yahoo Answers. :)

Hey dude, no soldier asks to go to war, we just do cause thats what we're trained and paid to do. Plenty of soldiers don't see a point in this war, but they're still soldiers.

The US had to fight to exist. War happens, since antiquity. Whether there is a point to it or not seems kinda irrelevant.
