The Catholic Church is indeed the One True Church. Jesus came to establish the Kingom of Heaven on Earth. The Catholic Church is His Kingdom on Earth.
That is God's Truth. Therefore, it is neither self-righteous nor arrogant to proclaim the Catholic Church the One, True, Holy, Universal, and Apostolic Church.
And what does this mean, "I guess you have to pay"? Who is paying who what?

Here is the full text of the new document that states nothing new: http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20070629_responsa-quaestiones_en.html
Most Christian denominations believe that each of them is the fullest version of the Church of Christ.
While the Catholic Church also believes that she is "the highest exemplar" of the mystery that is the Church of Christ, she does not claim that non-Catholic Churches are not truly Christian. The Catholic Church teaches:
Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.
Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.
All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.
With love in Christ.

My Bible mentions Jesus giving us a Church, in Matthew 16:18. Which Bible are you reading?
LOL at pastor art. You claim to have studied the Catholic Church a great deal??? Yet everything I've seen you post about it has been false, ridiculous, off the wall, and slanderous. You're a real piece of work.

i believe this is what your referencing....
The Eastern churches, the document notes, "have true sacraments and above all – because of the apostolic succession – the priesthood and the Eucharist." They are therefore sister churches, even if they fall short of universality because of their separation from the Holy See.
The Protestant communities, on the other hand, "do not enjoy apostolic succession in the sacrament of Orders." Because these communities "have not preserved the genuine and integral substance of the Eucharistic Mystery," the CDF writes, they "cannot, according to Catholic doctrine, be called "churches" in the proper sense.
i don't read what you questioned into that at all.....

"I thought that Jesus came to give God to the people? "
He did.
1Ti 2:5 For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Nothing in there about needing some person besides Christ to get to God.
Jhn 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Again, just Christ, no organization needed to get to the Father.
The teaching of Catholicism in taking "church" to mean an organization when it's talking about people is ridiculous.
Gr. ekklÄsia
1) a gathering of citizens called out from their homes into some public place, an assembly
a) an assembly of the people convened at the public place of the council for the purpose of deliberating
b) the assembly of the Israelites
c) any gathering or throng of men assembled by chance, tumultuously
d) in a Christian sense
1) an assembly of Christians gathered for worship in a religious meeting
2) a company of Christian, or of those who, hoping for eternal salvation through Jesus Christ, observe their own religious rites, hold their own religious meetings, and manage their own affairs, according to regulations prescribed for the body for order's sake
3) those who anywhere, in a city, village, constitute such a company and are united into one body
4) the whole body of Christians scattered throughout the earth
5) the assembly of faithful Christians already dead and received into heaven
Nothing about an organization.
The teaching that an organization is needed for salvation is clearly false:
Jhn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Jhn 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Not through an organization, through Christ alone!
People need to read the Bible, instead of taking church leaders' word for gospel.

Yes, that is exactly why Jesus came, which is exactly why He founded the Catholic Church for all mankind, and clearly said there was to be no other. Can you seriously think that a system of thousands of unauthorized, conflicting, contradicting manmade denominations can bring people to God? Jesus said the truth would set men free. Conflicting beliefs mean untrue beliefs, because truth cannot conflict with itself.

the catholic church teaches things that are not all biblical. they are not the only true faith. for the pope to say what he did was wrong. you don't have to confess your sins to a man, you don't pray to any saints or mary. they can't do anything for you. you pray to Jesus, thats it. people put the pope on a high pedastil instead of God. i don't see catholics witnessing to people on the streets. i don't see them handing out Gospel tracts. the Bible is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow it does not change. have faith in Jesus Christ and He will guide you.

Um...what? What are you talking about "Have to Pay"? Tithing is in many Christian churches and it's a part of stewardship and community support of the brick and mortar church. Anyway, you don't HAVE to give money, it's a suggestion. What would happen if no one gave money? There wouldn't be any church to go to.
I hate it when people say ignorant things like you do.

this post is bunc. What do you mean you have to pay? Jesus set his Church up and it is the Catholic Church. It is through the Catholic Church he gives God to the people. If it is not the Truth, why do people have a jealousy fit?

The Roman Catholic Church has thought that since its beginnings. What the pope wrote is nothing new... heck even what he wrote isn't new... he wrote that 7 years ago! Of course, now that he's the pope, more people are listening.
Personally, I'm not too worried. I know what I confess and what I believe, and I'm pretty sure I'm covered!
Edit: wow, tough crowd! So, I guess confessing the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed, and being baptized into Christianity as one of God's children receiving eternal salvation, those things aren't good enough? See... this is why I'm a Lutheran. While we know we are right, we don't tell anyone else they are doing it wrong! We're just happy they're believing!
Oh, and I did read the entire Dominus Iesus, written in 2000, by then Prefect Ratzinger
